Speculation Peltier

This seems an odd one unless there is someone else lined up or he plans to play De Laet at right back.

Another one that we'll sell for half what we paid but then go on to perform at least twice as good as we ever got from him.

Yes he was caught out of position a few times for goals but I don't think he is a bad player and it is a part of his game that could easily be improved on given the right coaching.

De Laet is more of a right back I thought, well from reading the Man Utd forums when he signed he was touted as more of a right back on there but even if Nigel's plan was for De Laet to be first choice, we still need players like Peltier as back up if we are to achieve our goal.

Hopefully as he looked a decent prospect whenever he made an appearance for us but they were few and far between unfortunately.

Don't really rate him so probably for the best as far as I'm concerned. He was okay going forward but nothing special. Defensively I thought he was shite which is the key thing..

We are a bit thin on the ground in terms of squad numbers already without letting another one go. I hope we have got a good number of incoming transfers in the pipeline! Defence certainly needs bolstering.

The Mercury claimed yesterday the offers had been rejected and Peltier remained part of NP's plans for now. If this was true, but now appears the offers have been accepted then I can only presume we've done some business of our own?

Edit - Peltier was definitely still with the squad around 10pm last night.

Stringers tweet said leaving not left. Not too fussed either way. Peltier would be a good back up option but not good enough as a regular first team player imo

That article in the Merc saying we're fighting to keep Peltier concerned me, because I don't think he's good enough.

Hopefully Stringer is right.

De Laet clearly bought as first choice right back. NP obviously rates Moore as a young right back option and St. Ledger is also comfortable playing there. Therefore, Peltier isn't likely to get a game here.

I like Peltier as a player but unfortunately, I don't think he's a good enough right back for what we need. I think he's probably a better midfielder than right back too, a position he started out as at Liverpool. And as a midfielder, he wouldn't be get a game for us either.

Best just recoup outlay and all move on.
