I'm probably just being naive, but I really am confused here. If people know you (I'm assuming HF is quite OK with MKF for example) then you can get away with 'abuse' because then it becomes 'banter'

Unfortunately EF not everyone is the same and not everyone can just ignore it.Yes perhaps they should stay away from the forum but doesn't haven't a mixture of personalites on here make the place what it is. ? People's differing personalities tend to make the place more enjoyable IMO

I have quite a good scrolling finger (edit away) and have ignored the worst of the banter in the past....... but I'm going to nominate the above as post of the day.




Anyway I'm also going to put motorcyclists who drive through red lights and force me to do an emergency stop in to the category of people who piss me off.



(with hindsight I shoud have just hit him. Landrover v motorcyclist , I know who I'd back, and that would be one less person to piss me off)

People who mean well but really shouldn't tell you stuff you don't want to know. Nothing important, just mundane stuff about people you used to be friends with slagging you off all the time, in turn slagging you off to people who don't even know you but also slag you off as well without having a clue.


And yes, they do 'lurk' on the forums so yes I'm talking about you!
If they are sad enough to waste time name-calling me they aren't having a pop at some other sap who has dared to say what they think, so just let them get on with it eh? Stops them being bored with their own lives imo!

Get your point HF but this will also change the personalities if we are not allowed banter. You say differing personalities make this forum what it is but taking away the humour/banter side of the forum will change the make up of the site. I know i like a laugh and like the banter everyone has. Take that away and it could become a very different site.

On another note, feel free to have a bit of banter with me guys. I'm not really offended by anything so if you want some, come and get it.

There is a fine line between banter and abuse, but I do think there will be a dramatic decrease in banter because people will be concerned that it might be seen as abuse. Which is a shame because I think the banter makes this forum.
