Also, what's wrong with saying 'over 100%'? Do you mean a percentage higher than 100? If so, there's nothing wrong with that at all.
Percentages do not have to be less than 100.

It depends Mackster. Obviously something can go up by, say, 125%, but equally obviously it cannot go down by that much.

The problem seems to arise when people try to give numerical values to unquantifiable variables, eg effort, talent, and (in football parlance) fitness.

Absolutely, that's utter bollock talk, but as long as it's clear what 100% represents, values greater than 100 are perfectly acceptable. It's just a way of expressing a fraction and I like vulgarity.
