MIKE FAIRHURST - SPORTS SCIENCE INTERN
Mike is an undergraduate student from Loughborough University studying Sports and Exercise Science. Taking a year out of his studies Mike has joined LCFC for the 2010/11 season providing sports science support to the 1st and Reserve Teams at Leicester.
His responsibilities at the club include analysing the heart rate data, monitoring hydration levels and implementing post training recovery strategies.
As a F.A level 2 qualified football coach Mike has previous experience working in numerous sports settings.He has worked as a multi sports coach within sports development and has worked as a Team Leader for the Youth Sports Trust. Further he has also worked alongside coaches within Wigan Athletics Centre of Excellence.
Currently Mike is working towards becoming an accredited UKSCA Strength and Conditioning coach.
SIMON HAYMAN - SPORTS SCIENCE INTERN
Simon is an Undergraduate student at Loughborough University studying Sport & Exercise Science, taking a year out to work as full-time sport scientist supporting both the 1st and Reserve Teams at Leicester City Football Club for the 2010/11 season.
His roles at the club include collecting, analysing and presenting data on heart rates and hydration. Furthermore Simon also assists in physiological player testing, provides nutritional support and delivering player warm-ups and recovery sessions.
Simon's previous experience includes working at the Special Olympics 2009. In addition, to sport science support at Leicester City FC, Simon is currently working towards UK Strength and Conditioning Accreditation.
