I wouldn't want to give marks today - what I saw was a good team effort - 11 players who actually llooked as though they wanted to be on the same field and the same side as each other.

The defence did get a bit sloppy at times in the second half - a better team would have punished them.

Levi did suffer from being too small, but he still managed to put in a few lovely runs through in the first half, and linked well with Horsefield a couple of times. I agree with Jeff's comments about Yeats, and Jarret's passinglet him down at times, as did the apparent lack of studs in his boots, but he still put in some good work. AJ was my man of the match - effort, tackles, organising other players, and he took his goal superbly.

I didn't think Hume's performance was that poor. He did what he normally does, but for once wasn't on his own for 80% of the game, which meant he didn't stand out as much. There looked like the beginnings of a good understanding between him & the Horse.

sky sports news centre shows only 4 subs on the cov bench, is that really all they had?

Good stuff from the boys yesterday. I think Hendo deserves a lot of praise. When he arrived at the club his kicking was poor and he flapped a lot, but now he seems to have improved massively. His kicking is good and he seems to make more effort to come and collect things he used to just flap at. Well done hendo.

Johnson looks like a new player. That performance yesterday was all you could ask from any individual.

Jarret has a good engine and he broke a few things up...I will say that he gives the ball away really cheaply and I really am not sure about him.

Levi has been poor for weeks now. He isn't particularly fast and seems to lose the ball and get beaten up 9 times out of 10. that said we do look better playing two wingers.

Yeates looks good. Not amazing but good.

The defence did a pretty good job, not their best performance but we have a clean sheet so I can't complain.

Horse worked tirelessly and the second goal he scored was a very composed finish. Really like his work.

Hume deserved a goal yesterday and quite pleasingly spent less time fannying around on the wings. The lad needs a goal.

Worried for fryatt...didn't even get on the bench! We need a reserve team.

Jarrett looked good when he stayed on his feet. I think he should be kept, at least until the end of the season.
Yeates is good when he has the ball, he needs to learn to tackle though.
AJ was immense, as was the Horse.
And I won £66 on the special (Horse 1st scorer, 3-0 city)
So top day all round

well done :038: :023:

whatever mm said at the training ground did the trick. the lads in the first half put in the effort we excpect every week, they also got stuck in to their tackles.the second half we ran out of steam and was lucky not to give a goal or two back.

milan cant light a fire under their arses every week and im not sure kelly has the nasty side that we need in a manager to do it week in week out.

the lads all get a 10 from me for effort. :038:

You might not like this, but I think one of the best players on the park yesterday (despite letting in 3) was their goallie. He made some good saves and we could easilly have had 6 or 7.

agree mate, was very good and stopped it getting embarasing, well almost :)

I would have said they were standard saves. You would have been disappointed if he'd let one of them in.

TBH, apart from about 30 minutes in the first half, I actually didn't think we played very well. (i know that sounds stupid seeing as we won 3-0!) The second half was more of what we've come to expect from home games.

AJ is playing now how he should have been playing all season. MOTM yesterday. Jarrett ran around a lot and got stuck in, but apart from that looked poor. As it is i think we need a box-to-box nonsense player in the middle, that doesn't go hiding for half the game. So although he might not be the greatest player in the world, i'd like to see him stay for the rest of the season (until we can upgrade in the summer!)

I think in the second half they changed their style of play and stifled what we were doing well, the commitment and energy was still there, they just did a better job blocking us second half

The second half WE changed our style of play, sadly, and defended ten yards deeper than we did in the first half

Their number 10 changed it up front for them when he came on at halftime giving our two alot to think about. It also seemed like they had Kelly ringing in their ears 'don't f*ck this up, so do not go pushing forward too much, keep it tight' as quite a few times players seemed to hold back rather than attack as we were in the first half.
AJ was a rock and although Jarret was not the best player on the park (give him time) he ran tirelessly and did get in a couple of shooting positions (but we all know what happened) and gave some good cover at the back too, with his running the midfield had a balanced look to it which has been missing for a long time IMO.
