Players To Rescue Us....

I can't see it happening folks.

For the past few years we've been clinging on to the hope that certain players are going to come in and save the club from it's poor status.

What happens?, the fcuking hope dies the moment they put on the blue City shirt:

Geoff Horsfield
Martin Keown
Dion Dublin
Stern John
Stephen Clemence
Bruno N'Gotty
Nathan Blake
Andy Johnson
Radostan Kishishev
DJ Campbell
Danny Cadamarteri
Clive Clarke
Jason Jarrett
Ryan Smith
Mark Yeates

To name but a few, and not to mention the other 400 players that have been brought in for only a handful of games to be shipped on again.

Most of these players come here with a good track record and a good pedigree. We get excited, yet each and every one of them fail to deliver for whatever reason that may be.

Why is this transfer window going to be any different from all of the other fcuking let downs that we have had to endure?

Can we blame each and every one of these players?, or is there something rotten within this club?

Well it depends what you mean by rescue us. If you mean save us from relegation then they all have done so in the past. They're still a complete bunch of cvnts though!

I see your point, but I meant "rescue" as in take the club forward, I'd hoped the words "save the club from it's poor status" may have gotten my point across, but probably a wrong choice of phrase.

I am so desperately trying to get excited about Ollie bringing in his own group of players that will turn the fortunes of the club around, but history and experience tells me to forget it.

I remember when management was all about getting the best out of your players on a regular basis, this used to be the basis on which to judge a manager.

I guess I must get used to the fact that the new style of managent is now all about buying and selling the right players at the right price, and not motivation, tactics and a good footballing brain as it always was. I suspect the transfer window is to blame for the shift in this department.

I'm hoping that those who have followed Ollie's career closely are right when they tell me how good he is with his own players.

Fingers crossed.

I think the point is IH now has Gary Penrice. According to Ollie GP will be 'presenting' players for signing for us, as opposed to the knee-jerk crap we were forced to endure of late.

Who knows, but we can only cross fingers that they get it right. If we did sign Kavanagh and Connolly I would be 50/50 happy.

Exactly the same feeling here, I have always been optimistic of our prospects at the start of the past 3 or 4 seasons, even more so this one, but after all this heartbreak and disappointment, I will now only believe it when I see it.
