The teams at the top won't continue to pick up points at the same rate, they never do. Some will do better, some will do worse. We have to make sure we can take the place of one of those teams that does worse.

Here is the top six on this date last season, their average points per game up to then, and their average points per game for the rest of the season:

You can see that four of those teams failed to continue their good form, with two teams having quite big drops in their points per game. Forest and Leeds would have finished in the bottom half if they'd had their end of season form for the whole season.

Leeds dropped out of the top six and were replaced by Reading - who were 12th at this stage last season, the same position Leicester are in now, with the same number of points and games played.

Woohoo! That's the kind of spreadsheet and statty joy we need! We're guaranteed to make the playoffs looking at that! Onwards and upwards.

Next 3 games are all winnable. After that we have Reading and Bristol City, our 2 bogey sides of recent years, away from home. :icon_sad:

We need near enough 2 points a game to secure a play off spot. This is outright promotion form and better than anyone has performed in the division this season with the near exception of West Ham who have the strongest squad in the league.

Realistically this is highly unlikely to happen and in my opinion is beyond a team whose main characteristic is inconsistency. However, it is not impossible - but just don't expect it to happen.

Much more important is how Pearson is going to achieve steady improvement and how the club will re-shape the squad for next season taking account that I would expect one or two key players to want out at the end of the season.

All we need to do is find a way to control them via FIFA '12 on Xbox 360. Then just get someone who's played it a couple of times to play as Leicester. Not only will we go up as champions, our goal difference will be about 175.

And the mighty Jermaine Beckford will be on a goal tally of about 87, because he's so good on FIFA '12 it's untrue.

He really is, after my two year reign over AFC Wimbledon, getting back to back promotions and securing a solid squad, I took over Leicester and Beckfords tally stretches 23 goals, in just over a quarter of the season gone
