You didnt answer the question.

Gosh I'm so sorry.:icon_roll

Ok I think if we had still been in League 1 next season some of the negative mentality from the previous seasons might have started to creep back in, I think we wouldn't have got Hobbs on a permanent deal, I think Mattock would've been long gone by now and a few of the others wouldve been shipped out due to the wage costs.

So a smaller squad, with more 'competition' for those top two places from teams who would be just as determined to bounce straight back, I think we would've been hard pressed to get a top 2 spot. Not saying we wouldn't have done it, it just would've been a lot harder to do than going straight back up this year, as we thankfully did.

Yes but do you think the current squad are good enough to finish top of league one if they were in the position of being in that league for 2009/2010.

That's not a realistic question because some of this 'current squad' we have at the mo would've left by now if we had stayed in League 1.

We'd all like to think they would've performed the way they did last season, but we can't say that for definite. Lots of different scenarios would be in place if we had stayed down.

You ever thought about going into politics ?

i wouldn't even worry about it , southampton made a big cock up getting rid of pearson , and they regret it greatly .

Southampton can make their approach, I don't blame them for wanting Pearson back - however there is a way to go yet before they are even in a position to contemplate a new managerial appointment.

Nigel lives in Sheffield. Just over an hours drive to work every day to a championship club v a 6 hour drive to work everyday to a league one club. Its a 'no brainer'.

Pssis off saints!

Nigel Pearson is competitive like everyone in football - with the possible exception of Mark De Vries. This means he will want to test himself at the highest level, the Premiership. He is not a big name and so his only chance is to get a club promoted to the Premiership which is easier with Leicester in the Championship than Southampton in League One.

No doubt this is why there are no big signing, he is holding off so he can take them to the Saints. Damn him, he's doomed us.

CAn't see this happening,as I and others have said all along its Middlesboro who we should be wary of if they dump Southgate

Why would Middlesbrough be an attraction to Nigel Pearson?

He has links with them having captained them to promotion twice and to three domestic cup finals. It would appear a realistic next step for him

I don't think Middlesbrough are a 'next step' club to be honest.

They spent how much on Alfonso, could you ever see us spending that much on a player ? We are dithering over 2 million on some 1st Division player. In my opinion they have a lot more financial clout than us and for that reason I see them as a next step
