I think I was at that game. Rather awful in many ways - not just wading through acres of thick mud (supposed to be the 'Car Park') and very wet, windy and miserable.

That's Greater Manchester generally pretty much.

I wasn't at the Oldham cup tie (too young) But I went to the league game in '83. Last away game of the promotion run.

Even though it was May it was still cold & miserable.

Building site next to Boundary Park at the time & apparently the local coppers didn't see that as any sort of issue (or more likely didn't care) So we were greeted by having bricks chucked at us as we left after a 2-1 win.
