Ah, I see. I know he's rejected the right-wing tag but he does parrot a lot of ridiculous hard right views. I don't buy that he's anything other than what he appears to be.

He does seem to make right wing arguments from his more neutral studies- for example ( if I’ve understood him correctly) he’s identified two forms of political correctness, one good and one bad, but rails against the lot. He also goes off against ‘white privilege’ but doesn’t seem to recognise any form or racism in western society, if only there were none to recognise. If he’s not right wing, he’s certainly confused, and probably ought to be disturbed by the number and extremity of the right wingers who follow him.

I didn't know who this Jordan Peterson bloke is/was. Just done a search and I see he's a couple of days younger than I am but looks ten years older.

I've been listening to Peterson's podcast for a while. He's a fascinating, and very intelligent, man.

In my opinion, he is fundamental wrong on some key principles, and his ego is too big. But he's prepared to put his thoughts out there and have them challenged and I've heard him persuaded to change his mind on things too.

The world is a better place for original minds like his. His recent debates with Sam Harris were very impressive.

Writing him off as a right wing loon is very shallow. He really isn't.

Nobody has written him off as anything. I've spent many an hour listening to some of his thoughts and psychological mumbo-jumbo and whilst I agree he is exceptionally bright, he has also said some fundamemtally abhorrent things. Right-wing, liberal or left, I couldn't care less but some of his views are disgusting and should be questioned.

The worst thing about him is that he is absolutely correct in some of his assertions and they are extremely well researched but these are often hidden under a veil of 'controversy' because it's this controversy that sells books and interviews. The world is most certainly not a better place for a mind like his when he uses it to create unnecessary and unjustifiable rifts and conflicts.
