It's a funny old game

Totally outplayed and outpassed in the first half - don't know what the possession stats were for the first 45, but it didn't seem we had much of it. Every time we did get it we hoofed it up the pitch and gave it away again. Despite their possession, they never looked like scoring in a month of sundays. Utter shambles up front

In contrast, our finishing was excellent - including Waggy's bizarre goal (about feckin' time we got some luck)

Second half we pissed them

Wellens' best game in a City shirt - simply outstanding in every way. Howard also had a superb match, as did Hobbs, Brown and Spearing (get used to the bench, Oakley). Kingy did well, but played far too deep for my liking. Waggy poor in the first half, but excellent in the second

Don't know what was wrong with Bruno today, but he looked well off the pace - I assume it's fitness after his long lay off

The only downside was Gallagher, who was utter shite from start to finish

All in all a good day at the office

One down, four more to go :038:

You missed Morrison off the list, excellent today, as was the Easter egg Blue Maniac :icon_cool

The situation with the managers was quite surprising.

Neil Warnock was more relaxed than I have seen him. Not being as nice a man as Holloway he did not fall for the Warnock Give Us A Wave ploy and simply turned and waggled his backside at the crowd.

Nigel Pearson at 3-0 up was becoming increasingly infuriated with the linesman. When the referee spoke to him it was the third tirade in a few minutes and by no means the most abusive.

Has anybody got any thoughts on spearing? Did he play well?

I thought he worked hard and found space for himself in the midfield.

He fights like a terrier for the ball! There were many times when i wondered if he was just going to run and headbutt someone to get it!

It was like having Danny Tiatto back in the midfield at times.:icon_lol:

I was thinking to myself after this game if we had a fully fit squad right now i'd like to see the following team

Weale

Morrison Hobbs Tunchev Berner

Gallagher Wellens King Dyer

Fryatt Waghorn

Would love to see that as a starting XI

I'm surprised people are claiming Gallagher was shite today. I thought he created several of our best chances and was one of our best players. Must just be my eyes then...

He worked hard and got back to help out a lot. It wasn't his best game but he wasn't terrible.
