Questions for Craig....

Come on Craig.

At what point did it ever look like a good idea to take the best player on the pitch (i.e. Smith) off and bring on Twatto?

Why does a £750k striker warm the bench for the whole match when everyone else in the ground could see that our best bet when Watford went ten men down was to throw everything and the kitchen sink at them?

Why play Hughes, our best (currently almost fit) central midfielder on the wing? You could have brought Kisnorbo off and thrown both Hughes and Hume at their back four/keeper which never looked the best in the league. Watford are where they are for the same reason as why Wigan are where they are, two pacy stikers playing together, which leads me to my next question.

Why cant we try to pacy stiker together, i.e Hammond and Hume? Wigan are doing brilliantly playing this way. Why do you insist on playing a "big" man and a pacy Striker?

Why do you insist on playing two defence minded midfielders together?

Why when something like a long throw into the box by Kisnorbo isnt working, or the corners by Sylla arent working then do you not tell them to change it and let them carry on doing the same things time and time again? This is the place where you, Craig Levein, can have some impact on the game.


Why bring off our leading scorer, when what we clearly needed was a goal to finish the game off and bring on a "striker" that hasnt scored this season?

Is constantly changing the back line every game really helping anyone out there?

Before the match he was saying he was going all out for the win, and pointed to the 'attacking' nature of the subs bench.

But all three substitutions were negative.

When you're playing against ten men who are having to attack the best way to take advantage is by having pacy forwards taking advantage of the spaces they leave at the back. So if MdV was going off, Hume should have gone on instead. But Dublin went on because he's better at defending set pieces.

Hughes went on to strengthen the middle of the pitch - another defensive move. By all means bring Hughes on, but do it in a positive way.

Then to bring Tiatto on for a player who was making them shit themselves every time he got the ball was the final signal to Watford that we were more interested in defending, that trying to put the game beyone them.

Making negative substitutions like this must give the other team a boost, as it makes it look like we're scared of them - and it also makes the home fans more nervous.



When their player was sent off I knew we wouldn't win, we've let games slip this way so many times in the past. You can change the manager, the players, the stadium, but Leicester still can't make the extra man count.

Seems to me that CL will not play Sheehan/Gilbert again this season if ever. Baffles me why we play a right back in a left back slot. Why sign Gilbert in the first place? Is he injured? Loss of confidence? Ok so he didn't play amazingly well in those first few games but he wasn't that bad. Its like he's fallen off the edge of the world! Sheehan must be wandering what he's done wrong as well.

Watford have been on fairly good run recently and have been in and around play off places all season. For long periods of the game we dominated, loads of possession, and were in the enviable position of being 2-1 up against 10 men with 43 minutes to go. However, forget football skills, they had the mental bo11ox to dig a result out of a seemingly hopeless situation, yet we didnt have what it takes to finish them off.

Its this weakness of mind that costs us as much as anything. Wot are you going to do about it Craig? (Rhetorical).

Did anyone else think Maybury had a shocker AGAIN last night? People say he's not a left back, fine, but he was playing right back for 80 minutes! He's shite! Absolute bollox, cost us both goals in my opinion.

EDIT: I realise douglas' throw was also to blame for the 2nd goal, but Maybury let himself get beaten at the far post like he has all season, hence I blame him aswell!
