Do you know all the facts on his side? you shouldnt make your mind up without all the facts, i for one dont so wont comment.

All i knew is Tim was a supporter and still is, and was a honest man - numerous times offering his time to talk to fans, they may have been his job but not many do it. Plus he gave many i knew tickets to matches after complaints - i believe Notts got a few of him at one point

ah well thats alrite then if he talks to the fans and bungs them tickets when theyre pissed off...if only id have known this earlier:bang:

Tim Davies's pay package was set by the Renumeration Committee (which consisted of several of the Non-Exec Directors & 1 other shareholder).

The levels set were aimed at the "mid point" for such a role, so not the cheapest pay possible, but far from the most expensive. His package in the first year was higher due to a re-location allowance & a bonus for us winning promotion, but subsequent years the package was far less. Be interested to see what the new Chief Exec is paid

Then as pointed out by Jeff, like other shareholders unless we are promoted in the next 2 seasons, he will only have received 10% of his original investment back.

I quite like Tim but to suggest that he didn't make a calculated gamble in investing approximately £100,000 pounds in City whilst expecting to get a position which payed more than that annually is a bit far fetched, just look at the size and value of the property he lives in before and after City and you can see that he's much better off now. The 10% he gets back will look poor if you don't take into account his salary but most other investors didn't get a salary.

As Boc has said elsewhere, he would have earned more in the big wide world than at lcfc, prior to joining lcfc he was a partner in a firm of Chartered Accountants. I would assume that like most investors post admin he was not looking to get a penny back of his investment.

I think that the point is he wasn't earning more elsewhere when he came to city, I used the increase in his property value to highlight this, prehaps you missed that. I don't begrudge him it as he did as good a job as anyone based on the capital available to city in the post admin era but I wouldn't expect anyone to feel sorry for the bloke, he did OK out of it.

The point I'm making is that he would have earned more outside LCFC. As to his property, that could be down to many reasons which have no relation to what his earnings at LCFC were.

The point I'm making is that he wasn't and probably wouldn't have, ffs he had to take out a mortgage to buy into the club so wasn't exactly flush as a Partner in a Chartered Accountancy Practice.

But that's completely irrelevant.
The point is he was employed by LCFC, wasn't paid a top whack salary and did a good job in his time at that position.

What is it exactly that you and others are begrudging of him?

He earnt roughly the same as the Chief Exec of the company I work for. LCFC is a far higher profile job and I know requires much longer and tougher work. IMO TD's salary was meager for the role and prestige of the company he worked for.

It's as if some would only be happy if he did the job for no remuneration.
I think he also should have sold his children and gave the money to the club, he is supposed to be a fan after all.

Read my posts, I don't think he was overpaid or begrudge him earning a decent living, all I said was that he got a better return on his investment than others who got us out of admin and we shouldn't deify the guy. ffs.

He isn't getting a better return on his investment than anybody else.

He got a salary because he did a job of work that other investors didn't do. Who is deifying him?

Tim Davies knew what he was getting into and knew that his job with the club was not likely to be a long-term one. He worked hard and long to put the club on a stronger footing and he was successful at that and deserves the praise he has got for it.

This is a bloke who has skills that are a lot more transferable than players and managers and I would expect him to soon find another role and continue to earn a salary that most of us can only dream of.

I agree on the investment angle but he wouldn't have got the job at City without it and as I said previously it was a calculated gamble on his part with the investment unlikely to pay out now.

He got a fair salary for the job (median for the role he performed), some seem to think he is deserving of sympathy but I just don't see it, it's work OK for both City and Tim and he's now able to move on.

He doesn't need a fan club.

He did a lot of unpaid work for the consortium looking to take over the club, and the work he did was what impressed people enough to offer him the job, not the money he put in.

Would you be happier if they'd employed someone who didn't put any money into helping save the club?

Frankly I don't care, i've got no axe to grind, just find it interesting that people can devote any energy to thinking about it, he invested in the club, he worked for the club, he's gone now, no tears no plaudits job done.

The discussion only started because foxxhunter was attacking the man, for reasons best known to himself.

You may not think he deserves any credit for the work he's done but he certainly doesn't deserve to be called a **** either.
