Some interesting insight to Ranieri's time in Monaco from the man who hired him back then. Norwegian Tor-Kristian Karlsen was the Sporting Director in Monaco at the time. Here are his words about Ranieri after yesterday's match (Google translated from tv2.no)

- Ranieri is a lot tougher than people think
It betrays Tor-Kristian Karlsen, who staff the Italian in Monaco.

In England, he was branded as "The Tinkerman" because of frequent changes in the Chelsea team. In Italy, he is best known for its warm and charismatic nature.

To be honest, all managers are tinkermen (except maybe Sean Dyche, coz he can't). Plus, it was Mr. Ranieri who called himself that, so the media shouldn't take any credit for that (or anything else come to think of it).

According to someone on Facebook Ranieri is just a puppet :openmouth:
I do not think that Claudio Ranieri is managing Leicester City. He has been appointed to be the new face of Leicester City to the media and to dress up and act on the touch line at games. I feel that he makes a contribution with his contacts within the game and the players that he has knowledge of. Leicester City ceased to be managed by Nigel Pearson at the end of their mid season 12 game suicide run last season. His team selections and tactics were irrational and everyone else knew that something had to be done. At that point the management was taken over by another person or people within the club. Nigel Pearson stayed on to the end of the season as a manager in name only and continued to represent the club in a way that the owners were not pleased with. After he was sacked and before CR was appointed management and transfer business continued seamlessly. CR's appointment has changed little at the club. The successful run continues. Whoever is coaching and selecting the team is doing a consistently good job. Long may it continue.

I stopped reading that Guardian article after the headline. I'm so sick of hearing about that Faroe Island defeat.
