I reality, we didn't. Ever.
True. But we were flying higher than at any time in our history, achieving the impossible & pinching ourselves to check if we were dreaming on a daily basis. I'd be amazed if there was a single city fan who didn't think that the O'Neill era was the absolute pinnacle of what we'd ever see acheived. Especially against a backdrop of the wider game clearly being on a mission the prevent any club of our stature ever achieving even that much again.
The euphoria of the time made it easy to believe everything in the garden was rosy.

As is often the case after a revolution, the reality takes time to dawn.

After not being to Wembley since 1969, the Brian Little era, was something else.

Just a pity it ended the way it did.
