What are the odds on Wigan to go down? Say they are 3/1 on. If the board put a bet on them going down - say £500k, then we'll make at least £170k profit if they get relegated and £500k (after cost losing bet) from Connolly if they stay up.

Shame about Connolly but the money was good and his record of club-hopping shows he's probably not a positive force in the changing room.

I hope Hume can step up. At least with CL there is some consistency in his buying strategy (i.e. young and keen).

Possibly doing the same with Hammond if he costs more if we go up.

i made the point about hedging their position, i don't think clubs are allowed to do it

we should all as private punters bet on wigan to go down, if they do it's money for us, if they don't it's money to the club
