Not marquee players like Clarke, but O’Farrell’s signings of two highly effective [dirty] midfielders in the shape of small but perfectly formed Willie Carlin and Bobby Kellard made the 70-71 promotion season a bit of a cakewalk, aided by a lot of 1-0 away wins.

This sounds like a pint you might get at one of those pubs tedfoxxx tedfoxxx was telling us about. Filthy ****er.
You wanna know how it gets that distinctive, yeasty taste?

I don’t want to bring the tone of the thread down.

Rang my dad to ask about him earlier and he said he was the manager for his first game when he was a wee lad. He has no idea who it was against but he sat in the ‘wing stand’ at Filbo which I’m guessing was replaced by the Carling Stand and that he went with my grandpa and a mate of his who smoked a pipe, had a big ‘tache and was a Forest fan. Very helpful.

Before my time but RIP Frank.

My second.
Mine too, when I first went to Filbert Street it was Matt Gilles - but Frank O Farrel was in charge when we got our first season tickets for the family, which we kept through the Jimmy Bloomfield era.

Condolences to Frank's family and friends
