I think Person has proved this season above all that he's prepared to buy some really different types of player... Last season I questioned the fact that he never seemed to buy experienced old pros - this year he's added Hammond, Wasyl, GTF and now Phillips - I think they've made a huge difference to the squad in lots of ways...

Remind me when he bought Morgan.

Bearing in mind that Nige has signed players as diverse as Knockaert (from France), Morgan (from local rivals in the Championship), De Laet (from Man Utd) and Vardy (from non-league)... what IS a "typical Pearson signing"?

I'm struggling to think of a dud in his transfer dealings, so is it fair to say that a 'typical Pearson signing' is 'quite good'?

Seemed to be bought as backup/for the future at the time, so I'm happy to give him time. At this stage into their Leicester careers I'm not sure that Vardy or James were doing any better.
Tom Kennedy?

Indeed you are right but for me he was the exception that proved the rule compared with De Laet, James, Drinkwater, Wood, Vardy, Knocky plus loanees like Keane, Kane and Lingard.

This year he has gone the other way...

Thank you making the non point I'm sure you feel happy with yourself as usual...

Do you really think exceptions prove any rule at all? I would have thought that what they do is to prove that there is no such rule.

I'm not quite sure why you feel that your last sentence was necessary.

You forgot about Zak Whitbread. Do two exceptions prove the rule even more?

And if we go back to his previous spell as manager, he signed Lloyd Dyer, Aleksander Tunchev, Chris Powell, Paul Dickov, Wayne Brown, Chris Weale, Robbie Neilson and Ritchie Wellens. So all those exceptions must absolutely prove that he only signs young players.

I was expressing an opinion or maybe just a perception of him not signing experienced players...
I should have probably have said rarely not never...
But then again I would have a load of facts thrown at me contradicting my definition of rarely...

To be honest I could write a lot more about this pedantry and sarcasm but I won't bother...

Goodbye

So you'd prefer live in ignorance about your perception being wrong, rather than be informed about the facts?
It's not pedantry to point out that your perception of NP's transfer activity is wrong.

It's a pity that you prefer people not to express opinions which are different from your own. There is so much more to a discussion when not everybody thinks the same thing.

Is that pedantry then??

Either way, FFTH has a point as there are very few here for a discussion. It is just people correcting others and constant one-upmanship.
