How could it be a pointless gimmick? The bloke was a Premiership footballer a year ago. I doubt it will happen as he would command to high a salary but if we could afford him I think he would be a good signing.

i would love to see him come in and rile the team and help us back up, being the character he was for us under MON, but i cant see it happening. imo, if he does come here he wont try and the reality of being a division 3 player will soon hit home for him.

i think pearson has worked hard this summer to create a good, fresh team out of the horrors of last season. if we sign savage, then i wont be ready to slate him, infact theres nothing i'd like more than for one of my old idols come back and play well, but at the first signs of trouble and not romping the division i think his bottom lip will come out and he'll stop trying

Is he better than what we currently have available in midfield ?

Anyone who answers no is a bit of a fool IMO

The only issue is the disruption he would inevitably cause

In terms of pure footballing ability anybody who thinks Savage is a better player than Oakley or Clemence is a fool in my opinion.

Yes he runs around lots more and puts in more tackles he has no hope of winning than the afore mentioned.

I know what I'd rather have in my team.

He seems to have lost the plot a bit recently. He seems to like living up to his reputation as a bad boy a bit too much. I think he gets found out by good players now and may be a bit too disruptive in a team that needs exactly the opposite.

He's better off with the sheep.

i wouldn't mind him back, at least he might bring some passion to the camp.

I was speaking to a couple of Derby fans at Ilkeston friendly and they said most of the crowd there hate savage and want him out so i wouldn't be surprised to see a little truth in this.

They never wanted him to be signed in the first place (there was an on-line petition against it), so he was always on to a loser with many fans

But with Jewell saying today that basically Sav can't be arsed in training with the Rams, would NP really want that kind of negativity around the camp?

NO NO NO,Pearson would strangle him after a couple of days.....go with what we have as the youth need to be given a chance.:icon_bigg

Radio Leicester claims we are in talks with derby and also dickov will sign by the end of the week. According to my old man.

Should tell Dickov to **** off.

He (Dickov) has been offered a tidy amount to return, as well as a 2 year deal.

The fact it has taken him this long to decide shows a distinct lack of determination on his part, if he's not got the willingness to get something sorted so that he can be ready for the new season then I for don't want him here.

This has dragged on for far to long.

Both would improve the team IMO,I wouldn't mind either or both of them here. They are both a pair of unsavoury characters but that isn't important, its what they do on the pitch that matters

Too right

Are people really turning their noses up at Paul Dickov ?

Madness

Look at our set of monkeys up front and tell me that they are better than him (all put together)

Personally I wouldn't mind Dickov. He proved against us last year he can still do a job.He could get 15/20 goals for us next season.

Could not disagree more! Why do we need them? They'll wreck the team spirit. Big time past it charlies are not we want. They say 'never go back' and never was a truer word spoken.

I bet NP isn't the one showing interest and that it's all down to MM. I wish he'd keep his oar out and let Nigel get on with the great job he's doing.

Savage has no skill and if either of them are so good, how come we are the only ones interested? I despair.....
