I bet NP isn't the one showing interest and that it's all down to MM. I wish he'd keep his oar out and let Nigel get on with the great job he's doing.

.....

What great job is that - we haven't even played a feckin' game yet ?

Both would provide experience that the kids would bounce off

I think Dickov would be outstanding

If we could add an older full back as well, it's happy days

Both would improve the team IMO,I wouldn't mind either or both of them here. They are both a pair of unsavoury characters but that isn't important, its what they do on the pitch that matters
If he waves his shoes, or tells a joke in his first interview, all will be gforgiven for the Dickov.

It's bizarre, H. Doesn't matter how bad they are for this club, so long as they like 'em. And conversely it doesn't matter how good they will be for this club if they don't like 'em.

Damned or worshipped before they start at this club.

i would have dickov back anyday of the week but savages game relys on him being able to run which he clearly cant now.

They say 'never go back' and never was a truer word spoken.
How about: "Without oxygen, all human life will die"? Seems to be a truer statement than the one you just quoted.

I'm not sure Bruce Dickinson regrets going back to Iron Maiden, I'm not sure that Arsenal wouldn't like Thierry Henry back.

Radio Leicester claims we are in talks with derby and also dickov will sign by the end of the week. According to my old man.

Not sure about Savage but Dickie's really on the cards as mentioned over a week ago (http://www.talkingballs.co.uk/showpost.php?p=716302&postcount=252)

Sav's always been just an 'engine' - he admitted it himself that he didn't have the skill of most other footballers - and if the engine's going rusty then I say steer clear..

feck knows why we would go for players who were and possibly still are good when we can have our pick of the conference players.....fecking hell. anyone that thinks we have a better midfielder than savage or a better forward than dickov in our squad is a total numpty

i would love to see dickov back here he has more fight and passion than all our other strikers put together, and i would imagine the reason he is taking so long to make his decision is that it will probably be his last move so i'm sure he wants to get it right.

I don't care who we sign, be it short or long term, as long as we get out of this god forsaken division as quickly as possible. We cannot say with any assurance that either Savage or Dickov will be disasterous for team spirit, as we can only look at the evidence at the time we were closest to them. Savage was part of an era when team spirit was at its highest at this club, and Dickov and the lads saw us through admin and adversity in the first season.

If they were going to sign for Leeds, for example, I would expect them to improve their team, in this division, not make it worse.

Are people really turning their noses up at Paul Dickov ?

Madness

Look at our set of monkeys up front and tell me that they are better than him (all put together)

correctamundo, e.g i ****ing hate kevin phillips, cause the ratty little wanker always scores against us, but we need someone like that. we have been shit up front ever since dickov left and people are fecking silly if they dont want him

FECK Dickov stick with fryatt aka fyatt

Fecking unbelievable, we have just been relegated with a squad littered full of tossers who weren't prepared to fight and scrap to stay up and then when we have the possibility of signing two players with proven ability and will provide the fire, brimstone and experience we so desperately need.

Savage and Dickov haven't played full seasons for quite a while, they're both in their mid-30s and their games rely on energy and stamina, something they'll obviously be running out of at their age.

I think fans are right to be sceptical, particularly given the unimpressive recent ageing signings we've had along the same lines e.g. Dublin, Keown, N'Gotty.

The Blue Mongies will love it though.

He was also at the start of the slump. I remember his pitiful display in the 5 -0 home drubbing by Bolton.
He's not been playing for the sheep during preseason cos of his attitude in training. Do you think it will get any better if he drops down yet another division?
Also, how many opposition players will be looking to add pelican head to their scalp collection. A very dodgy decision to bring him back, imo.

Both Dublin and N'Gotty weere slow but had great skills and experience.

Savage will still get stuck in and his distribution has improved over the last few years.

Dickov is Dickov so expect several penalty appeals every game and he often fools the ref!

I would have them both back if they actually want to play and put in the effort.

I wouldn't want Savage back here. Simply because I heard the tosser slag off the club and the fans in a radio interview the season after he left us. now, he might well have been doing it to get the Brum lot on side, as he was sucking up to them in the same interview, but after the support we gave that twat when it seemed as though the whole footballing country hated his guts for him to come out with the load of bollocks I heard made me want to smack him into the following week. Though if i'm honest I can't remember much of said interview now, just bits and pieces which made me mad at the time!

He can rot at the sheep as far as I'm concerned.

As for Dickov........ He was part of the whole shambolic La Manga affair(yes those guys were innocent, but they put themselves in a situation which brought all the trouble) and whether it was true or not, I heard from several folk before that Man City match where he missed the re-taken penalty, that his missus had put her foot down and said they were moving back oop North.

Now, if he had come out with the excuse of leaving the club for family reasons then I'm sure no one would've begrudged the bloke, especially after all that went on that season, but he blethered on about staying cos he owed it to the club after they stood by him etc. I even remember a interview with him and his wife on GMTV ffs going on about how he was looking forward to pre-season training........wasn't long after that he fecked off to Blackburn.

At least Scimeca and Thatcher were honest about leaving and just did it without all the 'loyalty' spiel. I'd much rather footballers keep their bloody gobs shut.

So I guess the main reason I don't want either of them back is cos I don't like players who fecked off whilst lying through their teeth about staying or slagged us off when their best bloody part of their career was with us!

Feck the pair of them.
They'd be on higher wages than the others as well I bet....

I would kiss their talismanic feet and cry tears of joy if either of these players deemed themselves worthless enough to join our rotten club. Just as i did when Steve Guppy came back and proved he still couldn't go past a player.

I also cry after ejaculation so perhaps I am just more inclined to weeping tham most other closet homosexuals.

The bottom line for me is that we don't need either of them or their baggage.

I'm confident we'll get promoted without them.
