Seen the old City chairman [Insert First Name Here] George at Nuneaton V Hinckley last Saturday, the squirmy wankers got a place on the board at Nuneaton Boro, arrogant fecker. Apparetently the telling factor in getting ex-city player Martin Reeves to become Nuneaton's midfield lynchpin.
To be fair, Martin George gave the club some cash (50k-100k) when we went into admin. He appointed MON. He took the club on various trips (inc. La Manga) and has comtinued to put his cash into the club to this very day.

So what exactly is wrong with this guy?

He was alright, it was Elsom who was/is a prick.

Yea, no doubt. He gave all the money the club had to PT without condition. Gave him a new contract after we lost something like 10 on the bounce and then sacked him in October costing us at least £1million. He forced us into admin by giving players 30k contracts for several years (a.k.a Matt Elliott, Ian Walker).

Then after screwing the club over, and about a week after we went into admin, Elsom gave a cool £1million to Grimsby and took up a place on their board.

Elsom was the probelm.

Exactly, Martin George appointed Brian Little, Mark McGhee and Martin O'Neill, so not a bad judge of a manager, unlike Elsom who made 2 appointments Twatlor and Bassett ! Need we say more. Criticism of Martin George very unjust IMO.

As a side issue, if we were to be in the position of appointing a new manager, would it not be wise to maybe include Mr George in the decision making process bearing in mind his previous record and experience.

A friend of mine told me last night we have been talking to Doncaster Rovers about Michael Mcindoe. He works at Donny Rovers so should know! Although he also said blackburn and birmingham have been making enquiries. I saw the Doncaster game against Villa when Mcindoe was man of the match - He was by far the best player on the pitch, would be a good buy IMO.

Was he their winger? One of their playes really stood out to me in the Villa game, think it was him.

Levein has said he wants to sign a new CB, a new winger and a new striker in the transfer window. Surely a LB would be a better option than another CB? Although I can see why he thinks we need another CB. But we only need a backup CB... we need a first team LB!

I didn't know he'd indicated a CB, I'd be dissapointed if that's the case, I think we have sufficient cover there - PaddyMc, PaddyG, Nissa, Stearman, Kisnorbo, Dublin. We absolutely, without a doubt need a 'ready to play' left back.

According to CL in the Mercury he wants a Centre Half,A Winger and a Striker and they were also implying that he might recall O'Grady after receiving good reports about him from Rushden

Regularess of what he done at City, he came across arrogant and selfish. Made some good decisions but his personality aint the best.

From Football Rumours. :icon_roll ;) :)

Manchester City are interested in signing Ade Akinbiyi from Burnley as Dean Ashton looks increasingly likely to stay at Norwich City.

Gareth Williams is moving to Manchester City From Leicester City to re-unite with Stuart Pearce During the January transfer window, with Craig Levein looking to bring in striker Steve Lovell from Dundee for in an improved offer.

Also from the same site:

Meanwhile of Jim Jefferies does go to Dundee Utd, Kilmarnock will replace him with either Bobby Williamson or Craig Levein.

I could well believe Levein ending back up in Scotland with either Dundee Utd or Kilmarnock, might well provide both parties with an easy get out.

Is this thesame Lovell as before? the one who plays for Aberdeen....Wouldn't be surprised If we went for The Rangers Striker Thompson I think his name is.
