It seems I was at the wrong game on Sunday - must have taken a wrong turn at some point during my 45 minute walk to the ground. The Mockery called McGivern 'impressive', and the fan doing the ratings gave him 9/10.

If anyone can tell me what game I watched I'd be grateful. It was a team in blue against a team in red. Team in blue went behind after about 20 seconds, three of the back four were atrocious, especially the two full backs, midfield was absent, finished 1-1... any idea where I was anyone?

Edit: If it's any help, the stadium announcer claimed there were over 20,000 in attendance, but there clearly were not.

Very much doubt that. It already looks like we're not going to bring anyone else in, so why on earth would we sell an important first team player in a position where we are already lacking decent cover?

The attendance figure is the number who actually go through the gates. I know of no club that do otherw*s*.

Charlton did it last season. One night with really bad weather it was even reported in The Guardian's match report that the announced attendance was at least 100% overstated. They do it to try to make them seen a " big club " to punters who weren't there.

I got the same impression - not for the first time this season, but I have made the enquiry of lcfc and several other clubs. Every one of them says that the published attendance figure is of the number of people who attend the match.

Someone at LCFC told me a couple of years ago that they counted season ticket holders as being present regardless of whether they actually turned up.
