I like Stringer personally, but one thing that gets on my tits is when he goes on about how the opposition looks utterly shit, then we proceed to get over-run or beaten by them later into the game...

To get a sense of perspective - try listening to Bleddyn Jones for five minutes commentating on the egg chasers. If you're lucky you might get told which side has the ball - occasionally. Opposition players get identified by their numbers (before they get covered over with mud).

Stringy may be an annoying narcissistic t*t, but he's tolerably accurate, even when I listen through the earpiece at the Walkers and wonder if he's actually in the stadium, or locked behind his trademark "early doors" in some "big unit".

He also tried to pin down the evasive MOF at the time of Paulo's sacking about NP's exit - which almost sounded like investigative journalism, albeit narcissistic t*t journalism - so he's not all bad.

I'd sooner have Stringer than his sheep shagging predecessor.

Derby fan wernt he? Made out he was a Leicester fan? I can`t think of his name?

Was it Richard (Dickhead)

On his plus side he's accurate in his commentary, he doesn't overstate too much.
On the negative side, no-one gives a toss about Charles Dagnalls golf capabilities.

For god sake leave the guy alone, yes he can be annoying but its not as bad as the constant moaning on here !

Every time he mentions something non related to football somone kicks off, jesus.

BBC Executive -Ian, A small minority of the people out there dont like you, your sacked.

GET REAL.

I think it might be that he starts rambling about god knows what so people listening don't actually know what is going on in the game......and even then he gets players mixed up,. Once, when I was listening to a home game commentary(whilst I was at the game, yes sad) he said Dyer was Wellens......now, I know those two are similar to look at but he shouldn't really get them confused with each other...

If you live in Leicestershire and do not have FoxesPlayer, your only option [other than going to the match) is Radio Leicester and Stringer.

I am surprised that going to the match is merely added as an after thought. It seems to me that for a Leicester supporter going to the match is the first choice. Obviously there are people who cannot get there because of distance, health, money or tyrannical wives and they need an alternative - but any alternative to actually going to the match is a poor substitute.

Tend to agree with both these posts. He's a tit, but generally an accurate one, and generally his questions are the right ones to ask. Sometimes he's annoying and sometimes he asks stupid questions, but be careful what you wish for - Stringer's a tit but Barber was appalling.

:102: Surely actually going to the game should be a last resort for those who don't have access to radio, poor-quality "live" streams or the biased comment, hearsay and bullshit available on internet messageboards?

Absolutely.

But then there's levels of going to the game too:

1. In a state of intoxication equal to or in excess of Bernie
2. On strong medication (legal or illegal)
3. Waving shoes/flags/cock while standing facing the back
4. Standing downstairs having a strop/sex in the toilets
5. Watching the whole damn process unravel in full sober glory
