Saganowski talks going well - Burley

Southampton are closing in on the permanent signing of on-loan striker Marek Saganowski as George Burley says "talks are going well".

The 26-year-old Polish forward hit 10 goals in as many starts towards the end of last season after joining from French side Troyes and Saints have first option on a permanent deal.
Following their failure to achieve promotion and the uncertainty surrounding a proposed takeover from American tycoon Paul Allen, it was feared Saints could miss out on Saganowski.
But manager Burley is confident a deal is imminent and told the Daily Echo: "Talks are going very well.
"(Operations director) Lee Hoos has been in Poland and spoken to the agent and we're hopeful something might get sorted there.
"There was an option in the contract when we took him which we're looking to take over. It's a case of agreeing personal terms."

Saints agree fee for Saganowski

Southampton have exercised an option to buy Polish striker Marek Saganowski from Troyes fo £680,000, according to the French club's website.
Saganowski, 28, arrived on loan at St Mary's in January's transfer window, and propelled Saints to the play-offs with 10 goals in 13 appearances.

Saints negotiated a first-refusal option to make the loan permanent.

Several clubs have expressed interest in Saganowski, who previously said he was keen to sign for Southampton.
