But if what we read is true then it directly affected the performance and result on saturday, so it does matter.

Calm down,I'm only winding you up although I couldn't give a toss about Birchenall,if he makes people happy then keep him.

I'm not bothered about it either way, chain yourself to the gates PFKA if you want, its what goes on on the Park that concerns me.I try to look forward and not back.

And if the players/coaches/manager are pissed off with the way the club is being run it will directly affect those who want to stay and inevitably what happens on the pitch directly because of it and indirectly like against Ipswich.

Bring back the Birch and Bananaman!

A doubt it had any effect on the result! I dont think RK would let the players get distracted by it as we need the points! Also some players might not be to interested as most of them have only been here over a year or so!

Should kelly have not considered that before he agreed to be Manager until the end of the season if that is the case ? He knew the score surely.

I'm with PFKA, first it was Mel now its Birch

I dunno if is salary is as much as is quoted, but this is my understanding of some of Birch's duties: Half-Time Entertainment, MCing various events (such as Q and As), entertaining sponsors and corporate types etc who come to matches, looking after fans that visit the training ground/stadium (I believe he helps out on the tours sometimes..?), and other little bits a pieces like delivering team sheets and tables to the dressing rooms etc.

Oh, and Gareth Williams thinks he's the funniest guy he's ever met....:102:;)

I thought you might be H, but it is the general message it sends out that concerns me, football clubs are all about tradition and heritage and I feel that we are slowly and surely going to lose ours if we continue along the direction we now seem to be taking. It also smacks of double standards when the board wanted a club that the fans could be proud of and relate to, I dont see how getting rid of Birch in this way fulfills that criteria in any way, shape or form.

So he gets a £30k for doing half jobs around the place and making Williams laugh! Maybe he has distracted Williams so much it has affected his game and hence why he hasnt performed this season!

I like the Birch and I can understand people saying he loved the club but i would love Forest if they gave me £30k a month for shouting the team out and telling the crowd to get behind the team!

It did have an effect, otherwise why would Kelly have offered not to take the team down to Ipswich. It meant the team were distracted and effected by off field events, also although the many of the players have only been here a year, bear in mind they are likely to see Birch almost daily and you can see there is an obvious rapport and respect, this will have upset the players and unsettled them on the eve of an important game.

So far, it appears that we are paying someone 100k p.a. to make savings at the club on the administration side. If anyone in any of the companies I have run in the last 20 years did that, then I know exactly where the next saving would come from - not the person who is doing the hatchet job, but the person who employed them because if it needed doing, then that person should have done it themselves.

Sorry is it fact that he offered to not take the team???

If that is true and anyone one of the players/coaching staff said anything like that. Then the club have my vote to kick the fooker out the club, whether it's Kelly or a player. This stuff has nothing to do with them!!!

But Kelly must have known all this before he took the Job

The team and the football matches are the key bits of the club for me, if the yeam are successful the club should be successful. However, I think the whole club should have an espiit d'corp that binds them together and makes them an something worth belonging to. It can't just be a business and it can't just be a team. As a fan I want to identify with the club as a group of like-minded people with the same goals, aims and objectives. We can't afford to have two camps, they must be united and work together to move us forward. There is always two sides to a story, but if this is a move that is not wholly agreed and supported by all the relevant parties, then they need to sit down and discuss things like grown ups. If its the best thig to do, present the evidence and make the case. Otherwise get her washing and ironing the kit or making the brew. :018:

The split was what happened with MON and Pierpoint and that whole sorry saga ended up with wages being over inflated and almost destroying our club

It was stated in your original post when you posted Bruins view on events and that was confirmed by Bob Hazell as being an accurate account of what happened.

Well if it's true then Kelly can go now as far as I am concerned.

Hang on a minute,PFKA - I said "nearly" spot on!!!

I know nothing about RK not taking the lads to Ipswich.....not to say it's not true though as most of it seemed scarely accurate - just that I don't know about it!

Too be honest none of us know the circumstances behind Kelly or the players feelings / decisions, so to make assumptions as to whether he should go or stay is IMO premature and unnecessary.

All I was stating in my original post was that with the timing of the announcement (friday) it was bound to have a negative impact, and in our current position we can ill afford morale to be affected by off field decisions.

Sorry BH, I was merely trying to stress that the basis of the story had been substantiated to some degree and not dismissed as total bullshit.

To the same degree none of us know the EXACT details behind what has gone on, so it could be said everything written on here has been premature.
