There is a clue as to the man's temperament:

"Eric Neal, 80, of Hinckley, a season ticket holder since 1949"

With all due respect to the elderly, they can get arsey when things are not as they expect.

I don't like anyone who states how long they have been a fan in an argument.

Also, he was planning to give his ticket to a friend. I sure hope he was going to pay to upgrade from the OAP ticket if necessary.

As someone who held a season ticket for twelve years and then six years, I would just like to take this opportunity to point out to Beights that I am a better fan than him.

I've had one since the O'Neill days and I have the entire first team from the relegation season tattooed on my penis. I'm a bigger fan. I'm also 15stone so physically able to Joey Barton you.

Season tickets have started to arrive. It's now confirmed as a swipe-card

With a swipe card how does it work with upgrading for a game. And how does it check for those with concessions like OAP and under 18/student types
I assume they will issue a new ticket for upgrades as they did last season. With regards to checking who uses tickets, there will still be stewards around. I remember at an away game (poss MK Dons) the the senior in our group was refused entry by the system so that a steward could check that he really was senior.

No, it isn't really a 'swipe card'. Unless my definition of 'swipe card' is different to everybody elses!

A 'swipe card' would surely indicate a magnetic strip at the back like on credit/debit cards. All the ST has is a barcode on the front.

When the barcode is read it will show the turnstile operator what type of ticket it is, Adult, Concession etc, so someone trying to sneak in on the wrong ticket can still be challenged!

The letter sent with the ST says that the turnstiles will still be manned for the first few games and urges people to turn up early to learn how to use the new cards.

Got mine today - woohoo! But they folded the book wrong! Damn them and their second rate book-folding machines. This is where the club needs more investment. Sort it out Sven!

What book would that be then?

The ticket was in the wrong side but my cover wasn't folded!

Book/funny plastic wallet. Was folded to the edge of the card and not the foldy bit. You were obviously luckier than me.
