I am very grateful to Rob for the job he did last year. It really was a great job that he did, but....
It won't count for shit if we end up relegated this season instead. I really hope and wish Rob every success, but I don't think that will be with us.
Sorry to Rob, but we have gone backwards. I loved it when he came in and made it clear that it wasn't a complicated game. He simplified and it had a great effect on the players who responded. However we never saw RK operate in adversity until this season and unfortunately we seem to be finding that he doesn't have a plan B when things go wrong. I also wonder how much of our former success was down to Ray Graydon.
Wholeheartedly agree with you Silver. For someone who is supposed to be a good coach, one who many people seem to want to stay on as coach if MM brings in a new manager, it is hard to see what this coaching talent has produced. Most if not all of the players have failed to improve, attitude and team spirit seem to have disappeared and any idea of tactics, game plan and playing to your strengths seem to have gone out of the window.
'Hard work on the training ground' is not in itself enough. The work has to be structured and productive. Does anybody really want to claim that Burnley, Plymouth and Colchester have players who are inherently more talented than those at LCFC. I don't believe that they are, I think that they are just better led. Leadership, however, comes from the top. It is not just RK who has proved inadequate in this department. The board, who did a great job after the administration fiasco, have also failed to show the sort of drive and ambition needed to take the club forward.
I am yet to be convinced that MM has the future of LCFC close to his heart but could he possibly be worse than the shambles that we have at the moment? The sooner the takeover goes through the better and I hope that he already knows the management team that he wants to bring in.
