we've closed the gap on sheff utd from 25 to 22 points. we're on the way
And we've a game in hand....;)

Just got in, thought I'd give it a review, so apologies if I repeat...

First and formost....get in!! Cracking result.

I'm a pessamistic fan, but I can find very little to fault today. It's hard to compliment too much without sounding like one minute I'm saying CL out, the next I'm saying give him an 8 year contract! Today was a COMPLETELY different performance to what I've seen all season. I recently posted that Maybury was a w*nker, after todays performance from the man I will eat a whole humble pie!

It's amazing what difference two pacy forwards can make! I think hammond took his goal well, but we can't forget he missed two other easy chances, he needs to work on that but I think that should be our starting line-up until they stop scoring!

All in all great performance, thought Kisnorbo was still a bit quiet (was he captain I missed the announcement?), but I thought MoMo finally pulled his thumb out.

The big test now is can we show some consistancy and will CL have the balls to start with that team against Leeds, no matter what MDV does against Bolton?

So happy with the win! Not just a win but we scored 4 goals with 3 of them coming from the strikers! Great result. This could be the kickstart the team needs, let's hope we can build on this!

We should've beaten Watford earlier in the week, but even so 4 points from a possible 6 against 2 of the top 3 teams in the league is well done from the lads!

Hume is cup tied so can't play against Bolton, but I hope next week against Leeds, CL will stick with Hume and Hammond.

When anyone gets the highlights off of World I would be very happy if they somehow appeared in my PMs ;)

There will be plenty more poor performances to come I'm sure but I've always said stick with CL til this time next season.

Congrats to the boys and lets hope the cynics see the possibilities this squad has with some time and stability.

Just got back from the match. What a difference in the team attitude. Speed and fighting for the ball. First half Sylla and Hammond tore them apart down the right wing, Smith causing problems on the left. Hume busy in the middle. For those of you only able to listen on RL, I do not know if the commentators actually comment on Momo when he is dancing around the opposition. I swear he must have watched the George Best highlights video.

Great performance all round. Hammond missed a couple of chances when scoring or passing to someone unmarked was the easy option. We blasted Dublin for that last match but somehow as we won Hammond will get away without criticism.

The substitutions were probably good calls. Smith taken off while still carrying a hamstring injury. Hammond got badly crocked late on.

One niggle though. Sylla got booked for dissent and Maybury was booked for pushing in the back after a challenge. We cannot afford to lose players for stupid cards. CL should clamp down on this.

Otherwise a quite brilliant display. We did not give up and could easily have won 5-1.

Well done the lads and relax and enjoy the vist to the Reebok!

Real Sharapova must start the Bolton match thread!
Well done old boy!

If CL persists with Kisnorbo then we've got no chance today.

Well i'll eat my words. What a performance from the team today. As been mentioned, we attacked with pace and skill today, and Sheff U were running scared. Hume, Elvis, Sylla, Smith, Joey and Maybury were all outstanding today. Great to see the front 2 score. Should really have been 6 or more really, but I'll settle for 4-2. Im not greedy.

Good to see Hume get a couple today, and to see that Leicester won. I didn't see the goals today, but Hume isn't necessarily a player who will score goals from close in. He is at his best (most of the time) when shooting from 10 yards out (or more).

hume's fourth was impressive as it showed a footballer using his head, most players would of ran wide and hit it with his left but he knew he had the better of their defender and rounded him onto his good foot. often players get their critics for doing this but it highlighted that we were (for some reason not obvious from our recent results) very confident today.

i've said it once and i'll probably be saying it still in may but we look a much better side against teams that want to beat us

from the sheff utd os (reconosence!)

Leicester had two penalty appeals turned down and referee Stroud was kind to the visitors with a number of decisions in the first half, although Tonge was the last of five bookings before the half-time whistle.

Even they admit the ref was a w*nker in their favour, not often that happend!

Could not agree more, the way he span past the defender was sheer quality. Don't be fooled, Hume looked good, he may score lots.

Make that VERY good. If he plays too well he'll be gone in Jan!!

I think the important thing to take out of today, other than a cracking 3 points, is that coupled with the performance on Tuesday, it shows that at our best we are at least as good as the "best" teams in the league. Our problems as we all know have been playing at our best consitently. Hopefully CL will leave this team intact for the next league game, and by playing together wil the same front two most of all, we should see the consitancy improve and our position in the league rise. If he changes it against Leeds though then I reckon we'll be back to square one.

I agree Beighton, although where is Stephen Hughes? I would still like to see him partner Kisnorbo or Gudjohnsson, he looks a good player.
