I would play:

Weale

Neilson / Hobbs / Morrison / Berner

N'Guessan / Wellens / Adams / Dyer

Fryatt / Gallagher

That's pretty much what I'd go for, N'Guessan and Dyer on the right and left respectively. I'm sure when N'Guessan was signed this would have been the idea anyway, and that midfield has so much more creativity and probably a greater work-rate than the one against Bristol City.

Gallagher looked next to useless on Tuesday night

If it is genuinely 'back to basics' then it's Fryatt and Howard up front on Saturday, with lots of pretty balls being lumped up in the air

And perhaps that's no bad thing

Yeah, wasting all those chances the midfield were creating :icon_roll

In contrast to what Waghorn managed to achieve in the same circumstances, he was hopeless

If we are going to lump the ball long, then having Fryatt and Gallagher up front is just plain daft

Making the linesman raise his arm more often than an eager schoolkid?

Well, obviously. But then, you could have the best two aerial attackers in world football on the pitch but if Wayne Brown is providing the punts upfield they're all going to come to precisely nothing.

:icon_eek: Really? Rather than, say, someone from the crowd, or a man with no feet?

Well who else is there? I think Brown needs dropping so there is no one other than Morrison to go in the middle, which leaves no one other than un-tested O'Neill or Robbie Neilson.

Are you suggesting one meaningless Paint Pot game and a League Cup appearance at Macclesfield don't count? :icon_roll

If not O'Neill, then I would point you to my two original suggestions.

Not very entertaining though is it homeywomeypants?

I left a minute into injury time on Monday. I felt like a traitor. Fortunately saw Fryatt's goal on a TV screen on the way out.

Instead of feeling like a traitor you should have felt like a nuisnce to those people you pushed past who were trying to watch the match.

the mid-field has to be changed for this game they are not creating anything, we had one effort a goal on Tues and that came from a clearance by our keeper

I've got a confession to make here:

I left a game early once. It was this fixture two seasons ago, and I left after Leon Clarke's goal in the 89th minute. As I walked away from the stadium with the game still in progress I felt sick. It felt wrong, but it was the most spineless performance I'd ever seen from a Leicester side and it was embarrassing to watch; eventually I felt entirely justified in leaving, although I did make an agreement with myself that I'd never do it again. It's worth remembering that things then were far, far worse than they are now.

might test your resolve, Laws is looking for a repeat of the result
