interesting to see how many people who suggested it on Saturday, believe it to be the right decision now it's happened.

Absolute madness. I can't believe it.
I don't suppose we've got Gus Hiddink lined up 'cos that's what it would take to make me think this was a good idea.

**** sake. Who are we realistically going to get in at this level that's better than Sven?

Since we're now looking again, can we have Martin O'Neill back?

Can we go back in time a couple of years?

I was already cynical about the owners. I'm now feeling downright hostile.

Personally, I'd go for someone proven at getting teams out of this division in the past. e.g. someone of Warnock, Coppell, Jewell's ilk, but I honestly can't see our owners going for someone like that.

Will the owners go for someone like MoN in order to appease the fans or a Billy Davies type to try and get the job done?

They'll go for a name. MON is a name, MON is proven, and he's a popular figure at the club so it's the logical choice. I'd be happy with him back for sure, but I'd also be happy if we got Billy Davies who is another great manager at this level. Whoever we get will have a cracking squad and no doubt plenty of funds still. What I'm more worried about is the image we are making for ourselves, who is going to want to manage us if we keep sacking everybody? We need a bit of stability.

I agree with most of that except that the new manager will also be inheriting big problems. First; over-high expectations and secondly, too many players who have been brought in expecting to play first team football. This is a recipe for trouble especially if we aren't winning every game.

In spite of the difficulties and given the financial backing we should be able to reach the play offs providing we have a manager who is grounded in the skills to get out of this division. MON could certainly do it - if he wants it and Billy Davies always appears hungry for success and looks like he could sort out players if necessary.

Sven's a great bloke I would imagine but after a bright start I never thought he had the right skills set to get us out of this division
