Signing new players - Kelly or Mandaric?

Any one know what used to happen with Rednapp?
Is the Mandaric style to get the players he wants/can get or will he ask Kelly for a shopping list with names rather than just positions?

It remains to be seen what Kelly is like with some real cash. I still feel that we need an authoritarian at the club. Not a nice chappy like our dear old Rob Kelly.

Kelly was just on SSN, so I guess if you want to see the news article it will be on again at about 19:20...he says he is reasonably confident of his future despite the discussions MM has had with Dowie. He also says he has had assurances that if he keeps winning he will have a job.

It would be nice if Kelly could do well. When you think of how much he has had to spend in transfer fees (£0) then it is hard to say that he doesn't deserve a chance.

He has loans for now...lets hope he can pick out some good ones.

I hope we pull some results together, i like Kelly, he derserves a chance after saving last season.

But what did he do last season that he has not done this season?

Last April Hume and Fryatt were on fire. Most of this season they do not seem to give a toss, leaving aside injuries.

I still have motivation and ability to arse-kick doubts about Kelly.

I would like some of the players to stop saying when interviewed, 'We all get on really well, he is a very nice man', and instead say 'That bastard Kelly kicked me from one end of Belvoir Drive to the other until I got the free kick/header/tackle/pass etc right'.

Also we had a very poor end to the season if I remember rightly. I guess once we were confirmed as safe, the footballing arrogance set back in again or the pressure was off Kelly so he reverted to type.

I expect this season to follow a similair path

but the people he has brought in still need paying, and the wages all come out of the transfer kitty, along with agents fees, bonus payments etc etc etc

He has a fairly decent bunch of players that are more than capable of competing with the other teams in this league, and indeed the Prem, we know this because occasionaly we have witnessed it.

Fact is, the players we have had this season are good enough to get us promoted, but they have been very very badly mismanaged,

Even if RK wins the next 10 on the trot, I still want shot of him. He is not consistant enough for me and what really annoys me is he will "set" a team up to draw at best, or even be happy with a small loss......

I think MM is effectively putting Kelly on trial in the transfer market over the coming weeks, how RK manipulates the market and who he can attract will give MM a good understanding of whether Kelly will be able to cut it come the summer time and what his player judgement is like, a shrewd move by Milan and an opportunity for Kelly to show his metal.

IMO it is a clean slate for Kelly, now he has funds it will be interesting to see who he targets, maybe he could surprise a few of us, if he doesn't then he is nailing down his own coffin.

I've got nothing against the bloke but I never wanted him here in the first place.I don't understand it when a Manager is sacked and his Assistant takes over,surely the Assistant is partly to blame as well? He has an input on tactics,selections etc and is part of the problem,he should have gone with CL.I imagine the only reason he got the job was because he was cheap.I see no different with RK and MaClaren at England and look what a great job he is doing

His time should be up, I just hope MM is biding his time until a good manager becomes available then boots RK out. There is only dross available at the moment so it makes sense to keep him on for the time being

Interesting question is Kelly picking the new boys or Mandy? Mandy could be thinking keep Kelly, he is cheap if it fails sack him.

Im worried Kelly cant attract players who are good enough to get us promoted. Also Kelly says week in week out the boys are smashing lads, would he be willing to have a mini clear out considering the lads are good lads, RK seems to be the players pals he need to tell them whos boss, he needs to motivate them. Telling the players they are good and smashing lads does not help them!!
