Being segregated by race is frowned upon immediately whatever the situation.

I agree with Lako/Melts on this, to some extent.

Being chosen for something because of your skin colour is rediculous. Being chosen for something because of your religion, profession, hobby or whatever is completely fine because it is something you choose to do. If you don't wanna join the club, you don't reep the rewards.

If i were to announce a caucasian ball i'd be receiving death threats before i knew it.

Calling it the 'Asian Ball' is simply saying 'asians only'. which is racist. Very different to saying 'only policemen/women allowed'. It seems that the asian community in particular loves to advertise themselves as much as possible and enjoy being different, while they still complain about being treated differently. In my opinion, the majority of the asian community doesn't want to integrate.

It also annoys me that people think that every ethnic origin in the country has to be represtented in everything we see on tv. All we end up with is the 'token' black man in a film.

Just like the Leicester Caribbean carnival is referring to the type of carnival, not the people who are allowed to attend.
