If I were a Southampton fan, I'd be pretty pissed off with their performance last night. It wasn't just shite (1st half especially) but also the players didn't look as though they even cared.

Other than for the opening 5 or so minutes, they offered negligible threat and we didn't have to work that hard to beat them.

As it happens, whilst I am sympathetic in a 'yep, been there' kind of a way, I'm not a Southampton fan and I'm well pleased with the result and our performance. Puel is mixing it up a bit and our players are responding. With the confidence and attitude that's seemingly growing within the team, we may even hang on to Mahrez in the next transfer window. He may just decide to stay put until summer because he's enjoying his football.

Yes, they did, but I’m not sure where this “we should be beating leicester” mindset comes from
I think you're reading things into it that aren't there. We were thoroughly underrated throughout our title winning season but since then I think the perception of us has been largely what we deserve

I disagree. For Soton fans to be convinced that they should be beating us comfortably at home, considering the form of the two sides and the players they have is not as we deserve.

As I said, didn't get that impression from the thread at all. But there we are

It's entirely understandable that fans of clubs with the history and resources of a Southampton should expect their team to at the very least be competitive at home to clubs Leicester. Not necessarily expecting to win, but expecting to watch the team and believe they can win. Not the shower of inexcusable shit they served up last night.

Totally agree with this. But that’s not “we should be beating Leicester”. That’s different.
