Put simply there are eleven players who could change the mindset in the stadium. I doubt whether eleven fans could and would have the same impact. :icon_bigg :icon_cool
Which was not my point as much as you may wish to obviscate the matter.

If you want entertainment and positive feeling in return for paying money then go to the cinema or f*ck a prostitute.

you would stuggle to get over 20,000 to turn up on a regular basis to watch either of these events

i pay to watch my team play football, i don't expect them not to work hard due to the fans not trying to motivate them...

don't exactly understand your comment there

That's not a sea change - that's the way a sizable section of twats have always behaved.

A sea change, although paradigm shift would better suit it, would be for people to understand the contributory effect their negativity has on results and either desist or f*ck off.

Paying money may well entitle people to an opinion, but unless we learn from our recent history we are going to be condemned to repeat it every f*cking Saturday at home.

They won't - and it won't happen.

In anycase, an uplift in the attitude of sections of the crowd wouldn't change things.

We need to settle down for the long haul that it will take to improve the squad. On the bright side, I think we have chopped and changed managers so much, that Holloway is likely to be allowed more time to do something.

Trouble with a lot of our fans, it is easier for them to boo than cheer our team.

To boo, you just purse you lips and go boooooo.

Now, to cheer, takes some modicum of intelligence, "come on leicester", has got more sylables than some feckers can count up to!

Booing now seems to be endemic at matches, so called supporters appear to have no patients when results go against their team.

Unless they're doctors or dentists I would think they're much more likely to have no patience. :icon_wink

I've always accepted that people pay their money and are entitled to their opinion, but at what point does it become totally negative ? Sometimes some players need a kick up the arse, sometimes players deserve what they get, but if a crowd singles out players for abuse what purpose will it serve. When players are booed for walking on the pitch, when they are booed from the moment they make their first mistake, the players fragile confidence is being destroyed. Most players want to be heros and loved by the fans of their clubs, but constant abuse is playing into the hands of opponents. These players are facing 11 determined opponents, a volatile section of away fans, the last thing they need is 20000 city fans on their backs every time they have the ball.

Haven't read the rest of the thread yet so someone else might have already mentioned this.

I remember that Stoke game, when after the break, Jordan Stewart was mercilessly booed and jeered by a large section of the away support.
I don't think I have ever seen a player literally go to pieces in a game the way he did that night, and it was totally because of the abuse he was getting. I was ashamed that night to be a Leicester fan.

I completely understand fans booing at the half time whistle and at the end of the game, the only real opportunity we have to express our feelings is at the match, and when you have to sit through most of the 90 mniutes watching utter cack then you have every right to vent frustration at the end by booing or shouting at the useless tossers on the pitch.
But to single out a player so much during a game can only be detrimental to that players confidence and desire to want to get out there again.
There's only so much stick a person can take in ANY job before it starts to affect them.

As for yesterday's game..................ahem...... I agree with the comment about Clemence needing a midfield to work with which would let him play the way he does best, and let's face it, we don't have that midfield, so Clemence has no fecking impact whatsoever-apart from giving away penalties......saying that, I've not been impressed at all by him so far, and certainly don't think he should be captain, he needs to lead by example and tbh he doesn't.

I thought King did well first half, but was quiet second half.
Thought defensively we were all over the place, Macca was useless, Kisnorbo even more so, and Sheehan and Stearman did ok in patches but for the most part weren't much better than the other two.
Midfield was non-existent so not even going to bother talking about them.
Cort was awful, clearly not fit and should never have started. But then what choices did we have?
Hume.....should've scored. Should've gone down when he was being shoved in the back but didn't(we wouldn't have got the peno anyhoo!)
Sappleton and Chambers were ineffective, but then considering they had no support that's not surprising.

So, yet another home defeat at that stadium which I hate with a passion.

But we'll be back next week to watch more of the same!
Idiots...........

Player ratings from the times...

Player ratings. Leicester:Fulop 6, Stearman 6, McAuley 6, Kisnorbo 7, Sheehan 6, Newton 6 (Chambers 60min, 6), King 7, Clemence 7, Hayes 6 (N’Gotty 87min), Hume 8, Cort 6 (Sappleton 65min)

So their reporter thinks our best players were Hume, Clemence, Kisnorbo and King :icon_roll

The times quoted our attendance as being 20,070, the same as the announcer at the ground. But RL, and others, have said it was 20,700. Anyone know which is right?

He wasn't at the game was he?
He just picked Clemence cos he was in the FL team of the week last week, Kisnorbo cos he's our 'best' defender', Hume cos he's the 'fans favourite'(ahem) and King cos of the goal.

Hey! I could do his job.......

I'm getting sick and fcuking tired of people thinking I boo players because I moan about them after the match if they've been shit.

I have NEVER once in my entire life booed a player, or the team. EVER.

I would agree with you but I have actually booed a Leicester player in the past........:icon_redf

In my defence though, it was when we played West Ham away the season we got relegated before Admin(just after Christmas) we played cack, and Dennis Wise came over to the fans are started waving his arms about shouting at us to support the team. I shouted at him to '**** off' and a few of us booed him.

He fecking deserved it, the poisonous midget!

So the moral of the whole thread (and Holloway's mindset, clearly) is 'it's all the naughty fickle booing fans fault'

You couldn't make it up, you really couldn't

I've listened to the whole of the Holloway/RL interview and you can't argue with the fella's logic at all. He's spot on.

However, he hasn't had to sit through mind-numbing shite for the last five years has he? He hasn't had to watch a steady deterioration in the pride and passion given by the players over that time. The constant stream of has-been or never will be, shite in blue. The shambolic running of the club. The seemingly constant embarrasing headlines. The unbelievably pathetic home record.

If he had, he might see where we're coming from a little more.

I didn't say that though:icon_wink

But it must get to a point where constant booing does more harm than only to show how pissed off we are, especially when it's aimed at a player during the game instead of showing our feelings when it's halftime or fulltime.

Agree. tbh whilst he has a point in what he says, it does make me feel patronised by his comments when i've had to watch the shite and he hasn't.

Anyhoo, he SAW us last season at their place, surely he could tell by that performance how cack we were?

But it shows a complete lack of understanding of the job that he has taken on - similar to Mandaric's blast at the "One Martin Allen" chants a few weeks ago

I didn't chant then, and I didn't boo on Saturday (what's the feckin' point ?), but I completely understand those that did.

The fact that he's missed the whole feckin' point of the state of this club just about sums it all up

He should be shouting at the top of voice that Saturday's performance was simply not good enough - but like so many others he has chosen to have a go at the fans instead.

It's pathetic IMO

I dont even remember hearing any booing, there was some very sarcastic cheers when Cort was subbed but thats all i heard :102:

well said!

Think about it logically guys. We are playing pretty well away from home, right? But are shite when we're at home, right?
So what's the main difference? About 15000 more LCFC fans, that's what. So instead of that being the home advantage, it's been turned into home disadvantage.

Abuse is not a motivator, it's a very strong DE-motivator.
