You watched a different game to Melts then:icon_wink
He didn't, I guess he he is just confused.

TBH, not one player should be graced with any such award.

I suppose if you fall for Hume's act of running around aimlessly and then moaning at other players, then yes, he did look like he was working hard.

If you actually look at what he contributed to the game, you'd laugh.

However, somebody who has not received the credit he deserves is Andy King for his goal, what a bloody strike!!!

I thought Hume was way off the pace today.

Hume was piss poor today, people will blame Newton for missing the open goal in the first half, but he should never have had the opportunity as Hume had all the time in the world to score a moment before but just took too many touches.

The defence has been great all season so they are allowed a bad day once in a while, we are still one of if not the tightest defence in the league.

The problem is the same as it has been for years - we are unable to score goals. We have scored fewer goals this season than any team in this league - we need to produce and finish more.

Christ reading the goal stats makes me think we must be sooooo boring to watch!!!

Spot on.

Within 3 seconds Hume missed from 6 yds, and Newton missed from 18 yds. Hume's was the easier chance, but needless to say Newton got the stick.

I'm not defended Newton as he should have scored, I'm just so sick and tired of Hume getting special treatment when he is just as bad, if not worse than a lot of the players on that pitch.

I've not seen Hume that many times, but from what i have i would suggest he is a championship player, one of many that will not play in the premier lge. Huff and puff will only ever get you so far

I have seen, along with many others what our players are capable of.

We are capable of turning over EVERY team in this league. We slaughtered Watford, and that wasn't luck, we outplayed them.

I have seen it with my own eyes, as have most of us. We know they can do it, we know they are capable, so to say our players aren't good enough is poppycock.

I am 99% confident, with the right Manager, the right goal, the right vision, the right motivation that we could win this league without any new players.

But other than that we have been on the whole poor, maybe we raised our game against Watford I don't know but just because we beat Watford does not make us a better team than them.we have some poor player, our midfield is verging on hopeless. If you seriously think that those Midfielders we have could win us the League then I'm sorry you are deluded.Aresene Wenger could not win this League with the players we have.Watch other teams in this League and you will see they have much better players, especially in midfield ,than ours.

I agree, we on paper have a decent bunch of strikers but the midfield is so poor they barely get anything created for them.

Absolutely spot on. The way Hume is forgiven his 4 out of 5 shite performances is bizarre. The man hasn't scored a goal for months despite being a regular. 18 appearance this season and 2 goals. He was his usual self today, a total waste of space huffing about with no end result.

However, can I draw attention to someone who is my criminal fraud of a footballer this season? Stephen Clemence has to be one of the poorest £750,000 players ever. I keep waiting for him to show me what the point of him is, and he keeps playing horribly. His passing is only slightly better than Kisnorbo (undoubtedly the worst passer of the ball in the world, including my 2 year old daughter). I'm starting to loathe him.

The crowd villains were all significantly better than these two jokers today. Stearman had a solid enogh game. Newton was alrightish. Cort was obviously unfit and got absymal service.

I agree about the midfield, but decent strikers:102:. Imo its the worst forward line we have had since around 1990.

I think Fryatt is ok,not seen enough of Campbell to comment and have never rated Cort ever.Hume runs around a lot but seems more of a hinderance these days:102:

To think that Heskey used to get stick, if these current players had half of what he had then they would be o.k.

Sounds bad from peoples opinions, but i for one didnt expect ollie to turn our squad into a league winning team straight away. He's still getting to know the players, and he didnt have the pre season MA did.I think he is now starting to learn who are the better players, and who deserves to start.
Credit to Ollie for what he said on the radio, the fans are appalling to cort. I remember when he limped off against burnley, lots of fans cheered, i was very pissed off. He doesnt deserve that.
Just a reminder, The Championship is on tommorow at 9.25 again for anyone who wants to see Kings goal.

I would judge our Strikers if and when we gt at least two half decent players in midfield

Fair enough - but in the event of us getting some creativity in midfield and a reasonably consistent pacey winger, I think we shall still be disappointed with a very poor collection of strikers:

- Cort's signing was absurd
- Hammond ditto
- DJ not sure he wants to be here
- Hume, popular because he is a bit hyperactive but he isn't a genuine finisher
- Collins John - don't think we can expect too much when you a striker loaned from Prem strugglers
- Fryatt - undoubtedly has ability but lacking in pace and strength - but still the most likely of a bad bunch.

Forgot about him, they are hardly strugglers though RF.I'd say him with Fryatt or Campbell would be our best partnership.Far from great but the best we can muster.
