Perhaps I'm alone in thinking this, but it seems like almost every thread I read someone is having to spend ages defending a fairly standard opinion to the point where the topic being discussed loses all relevance.

How bizarre. So, you'd like this to be a forum where nobody disagrees with anybody else and where nobody is allowed to express any kind of sense of humour, especially when they're taking the piss out of Lako for shits and giggles?
I mean what, did you actually take the post you linked to as serious?

Perhaps Jeff should set up a 'sterile' sub-forum where no disagreement is allowed and all humour is strictly verboten.
Or would you prefer if that was how the main forum operates and grown up discussion is relegated to the sub-forum?

Fine. The rules are the rules, but my take on this rule is that this rule is designed to stop spammers coming on and posting spam - your view on what constitutes spam is open to debate, but for me this was not.
