Having argued that DF I would say that ME was good in a 3 man defence but shite in a back 4. Walshie was good in a back 3 and awesome in a back 4.

Walshie was playing at his best (92-94) & (96-99), Elliott was (96-2000) and at the moment, playing as we are, I would have Walshie at his best back at centre half every time ahead of Elliott.

Walshie was quicker, more aggressive a better leader and though not as good on the ball he was adequate.

They were different players, bringing different attributes to the game. My only gripe with Elliott was he was great for the first few years, but towards the end wasn't the same player.

This is why I voted Walshie. If any of us fans were to put on a City shirt, we would want to play like Walshie. Well, I would....

I'm with Desert Fox.

I don't think Walshie was all that great a footballer. He was a fantastic captain and motivator and did score plenty of goals. He wasn't that quick at the back and generally his distribution was abysmal. (Walshie down the line)

Elliott was part of the spine of arguably the greatest Leicester City team ever. Flowers, Elliott, Lennon, Muzzy and Heskey. Play Offs, League cup finals, top 10 finishes.

Shame Matty faded so badly, but he still just about edges it IMO. Walshie is a true legend though.

In terms of football abilty Elliott was streets ahead. As a cult hero, Walsh gets the accolade.

In my opinion Matty was the best all round defender City have had since I started supporting them (1990), cool on the ball and solid at the basics. Elliott will probably become an under appreciated player in our history when in fact, he should be remembered for the vast ability he possessed.

I dont feel the need to pit 2 city greats against each other at all.

both gave me great times as a young city fan and i love em both the same for it.

God bless two real footballers of the leicester variety, weve had none since

they were both great players... Wish We could find more like them who wear the heart on the sleeve of the LCFC shirt!

Walsh by a mile.

Thought this was new today and was wondering who all the random people were that had posted!! Then checked the dates!! :081:

Voted Elliott anyway, only because I think he was a better player than Walshie. Don't get me wrong though, Walshie was a legend and probably the ultimate Leicester legend, just feel that Elliott was better, played in the Premiership for longer than Walshie. Would love to have them both in their prime at the heart of our defense, or even up front!!! Both brilliant players for LCFC.

on performances is hard to judge,

but total contribution to the team, Walsh without a doubt

in my eyes its got to be walshy, although elliott was a great player and a great servant to leicester, ive never seen anybody lead a team by example the way walsh did. both legends tho. fact
