Iheanacho might as well have stayed on the bench

A complete waste of space
I'm sure Slimani could have contributed more.
Musa wasn't on the bench and he would have done better too I'm sure.
Iheanacho nearly gave them a late winner by giving away a needless free kick that kept us under pressure.

We could have won it but hung on for a point in the end.

Bad subs really, none worked. Nacho, in particular was pretty poor...don't think he's playing in the right position at all.

Maguire needs a bollocking.

Thought Riyad was excellent, Vardy too.

We score a lot of goals, so we will be safe, but we're poor at the back currently. Missing Bobby.
Fuchs is allowing so much down that side it has become a massive problem. Maguire was piss poor today but I don't buy this notion about him being poor for ages, he simply hasn't been. The CBs are constantly having to come across to try and cover for Fuchs who has gone walkabout once more or they are digging out crosses again and again because Fuchs can't seem to stop them from raining in. The problem is exacerbated however by the fact that Chilwell is also not great defensively (although I'd be sticking him in next game without any shadow of a doubt).

Iheanacho seemed totally lost in there and Albrighton would have been a much better sub, allowing Mahrez to come a little more central in the Okazaki role with Albrighton to the wing. King, well, that was a horrific performance.

Bright points? Well, Gray in the first half was good although he went missing in the second. Ndidi was poor throughout the first half but looked much better in the second. Schmeichel was excellent making two fantastic saves and Vardy was superb yet again although he should have scored. I also thought Mahrez was pretty solid even though he should have put Vardy in when he had a glorious chance to. Iborra just looked too clumsy with the ball in the first half for me but the chasm that was left when he went off was ****ing vast - Andy King was never going to be filling that.

I thought Vardy was a bit off today - maybe a tad unfortunate, but I don't think he had a huge impact on the game. Great turn there right at the end, shame he couldn't finish it on his left.

CP: "We had a lot of chances today. It's a pity because I think we deserved more. We had passion and intensity. We could have lost it in the last action, but Kasper made another good save. We can improve on the goals we conceded. I have learned a lot already. Their passion, conviction is promising. Important to keep performing at a high level."

But who gets the nod ahead of him?

That's the problem. Fuchs has the benefit of having been a mainstay in the title winning XI so we know he's capable if the balance is right, but having said that - we have seen some rancid shit from the Huth/Fuchs pairing during the title defence =/

From Eurosport:

Leicester City: Schmeichel 7, Simpson 6, Morgan 6, Maguire 7, Fuchs 7, Gray 6, Ndidi 6, Iborra 6, Mahrez 7, Okazaki 6, Vardy 7. Subs: King 6, Albrighton 6, Iheanacho 6.

They had Fuchs and Maguire up there as our highest rating players. I haven't read such shit since FIF was giving us his ratings.

Fuchs has played at the back in a title winning back four.

So? He was good enough then and clearly isn’t now. We need a new left back in January or the Summer as I see Chilwell playing further forward.

I think Ihenacho did fine. He tracked back well and picked up some good positions but wasn’t found by the final ball. Of course losing Iborra was a blow because he was having a great game. But King coming in to midfield was not why we lost two points.

I didn’t agree with the Albrighton substitution as Gray was a constant threat but i can see the rationale in bringing on fresh legs

Very impressed with he performance overall. Being disappointed with an away draw is a positive. Mahrez was excellent. His first touch for his goal was pure class. Good performance by Vardy but I think he was a bit wasteful. Should have scored when he spun the defender. Ndidi had a very good second half. Morgan and Simpson once again were our best defenders. If only we could clone a left footed Danny Simpson. Gray proved once again why he deserves to start. Glad we have two weeks to (hopefully) get Iborra fit. In the last two games he has been excellent.

Two games in and it’s two thumbs up from me for Mr. Puel.

Agree with most of what you say London, but disagree about Simpson.
Caught out to often going forward.

Some very good chances to score more, if you don't take them, it puts pressure on the defence.
Today proved that.
Not as a bad performance as some seem to think.

I feel for him to be honest. He's clearly not a midfielder type player. He's a finisher. For some reason we now have three of these and the other two (including Slimani) have to play second fiddle to the main one. I can't really think of any other club that collect finishers like us.

Any of the three would be good in that role too.

Not as bad a performance as some are claiming. I’m impressed the impact Puel has had.. Remember the Bournemouth game?

We’d have been out of sight if the chances had been taken. Iborra’s going off was key. Away fans made a good job of serenading him once they’d figured out the extra syllables, “he came from (sunny) Spain..” I’d add.. “ to end King’s ****ing pain”

Nice selective quoting there. I did actually say 'having said that' in the very next sentence. IMO Iheanacho was shit today, looked like he was half asleep whenever he got the ball and committed some silly/dangerous fouls that lead to them being able to punt the ball into our box. Not good especially when they've got Peter Crouch.

I absolutely agree. He needs to be playing in the position Vardy fills but we have Vardy for that! His game is to perch on the shoulder of the last defender and we have him tracking back into midfield which really doesn't suit him. I think he may have bags of talent but we will need to change the way we play to accommodate him or rotate him with Vardy which would be a pretty brave (or a pretty foolish?) thing to do.

I think Maguirre should be dropped. Fuchs has played at the back in a title winning back four and still contributes some good stuff going forward. Maguire does have this habit of rushing out into no man's land leaving a gaping hole in the defence.

It was Maguire who knocked down the header for Ibarro to smash into the net. I like Fuchs as a character and a LCFC player but I must say he hasn't been at his best in recent games.
