My thoughts so far are mainly about our system. It's a different setup than I thought.
I thought it would be a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3 like it was much of last year. But Perez is playing more centrally and further forward than I was expecting.
Perez is almost up top with Vardy, with a midfield 3 behind of Maddison, tielemans and Albrighton all moving about plenty but quite narrow. Choudhury is behind them all doing the defensive job, with RP and Chilwell providing width.
Interesting and can see slightly more why it's maybe an attacking mid Brendan is looking at signing rather than a winger.
After Rodgers first game at Watford, he's played the same system - 4-1-4-1
In the 4 behind Vardy, there is fluidity so it will appear that one or other player is playing wide or in a more advanced role but it isn't really anything other than the movement he expects from his attacking players to find space against different opponents.
I still think we'll sign another advanced central midfielder AND a winger.
