I'm sorry, you can only be 'unlucky' for so long. I like Connolly, he works hard, chases lost causes and has some skill, and ability to pull out great goals.

BUT, he has no positional sense whatsoever and is not scoring the goals. Whilst he is up front I never think we are going to score and I am seldom proved wrong. Unless we can get someone in who can hit the net we are always going to be in trouble.

We NEED a real defender and a real striker.

Sorry Connolly, I no longer think you are going to come good...there comes a time when unlucky becomes unable. I think that time has come.

Prove me wrong if you can, but I highly doubt you will :-(

Yes Steven must admit even my patience with Connolly is running out,no man can be that 'unlucky' seems he needs to stop teeing it up and just hit the fecker!!.However if you are playing 2 up front then who else do you play? The main problem though is the defence it needs sorting and quickly.

Much as i hate to say it. your right, the fans are going to turn against him if CL keeps playing him.

Agree, but at the same time, there is no1 who can come in at the moment, so i for 1 will not be getting on his back

Its sad because I have never lost faith in him, but tonight was a turning point for me. He had to prove his worth, but he didn't and it brought me back to Republic of Ireland games that I have seen him play in. He just never seems to put himself in the positions to put the ball away. Great heart and spirit, but if you are always in the wrong place at the wrong time you won't score goals.

His confidence also has got to be zero!

As for De Vries, I think we have built him up to be a false idle. he can hold the ball up well and has a few neat touches, but so does Connolly. In the games that DeVries has started or come on I haven't seen him have a shot.

Surely Stearman should be given a chance at Centre half,I know he's not 'filled out' etc. etc. but he has those things we so lack at the back..Pace and awareness. He's may not be the ideal solution but if we can't get nobody else in then I think he should be handed a chance on Saturday.
Maybe Connolly needs 3 or 4 matches on the Bench and we should stick with the 4-5-1,Hughes and Williams seem to get forward enough.I really don't know the solutions.........

think with MdV is slighlty different, CL stated last night he worries a lot, and is already concerned about not having scored yet, i think if, not when, he gets his first he will start banging them in

I have got a mate who is a groundsman and he reckons takes the piss out of all other strikers with his good finishin at training

I'm just feeling tired and grumpy because I've hard a tough and long day. So I apologise for my negativity.

I'll say a few other things on the matter before I let it lie though. I don't know how everone feels but I am tired of all of the false dawns. Just when it seems we have turned a corner we seem to take two or three paces backwards. Why is it not possible for Leicester City to put some results together. It can't all be confidence because we managed to beat Charlton on Saturday...explain to me then how after taking the lead we could be so fragile at the back.

Tonight highlighted to me the two things I have mentioned above.

We need a centre half (or two...wishful thinking I know)

And we need a goalscorer. De Vries is a good target man, but unless we hve someone to play alongside him who can find the net that all means nothing. Connolly is not the man for the job...Sorry Connolly

if you look at the amount of time con's has had to get it right, its about time he did but im afraid hes not the man. the guy seems to spend more time going out the the wings to pick up the ball. 'YOUR A STRIKER STAY IN THE CENTER' we are going to struggle. our defence is shite and so is our strike force. god help our midfield because when they dont score were dead. SORT IT

I'd give MDV a bit longer to be fair he hasn't played all that much and I thought on saturday from what I saw he did well.Maybe CL should have stuck with the winning side tonight but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

after connolly's miss against ipswich from about a yard out i stopped believing he would ever score again, confidence is one thing but that was just ridiculous

I haven't written MDV off...I just like to see my strikers have a shot. :D

We need a Dickov :-(

I don't think we are going to ''get it right'' until next season. We just need to stay up this season and then CL can get the players he wants in,have a pre-season etc and I think a lot of the problems will have been ironed out.I still feel in the long term we have a lot to look forward to,CL is doing a total rebuild here,he's not just decorating the front room.

Good analogy! ;-)

I hope so SF,if not then Chandler can feel free to call me and CL 'a pair of ****s' ;-)

Agree completely, we shpuld also take into account CL is still learning his way in the CCC, not so long ago he even admitted his tactics on set pieces were not working, at least he is admitting problems rather than carrying blissfully as if they were not there

Well I'm an ambulance chasing **** in his opinion so I don't think I can go down any further in his estimations. Mabey if I puncture his missus?!?!?!

CL isn't the problem...at least our midfield is taking shape and we are always pushing to get something out of games. You can't make clay pots out of dogshit though!

Not blaming CL in the slightest, admittedly any tactics can fail if players are unable to carry out even the simplest of tasks

But just reckon even after a result like the Charlton game, we really should be looking forward to next season when it is more of CL's team and i reckon we will be able to turn team over like Stoke
