There was a lot of fans where I stood who could not understand why the free goal was given. Complete idiots.

If we had beaten without giving it, we would have been slated, but no one can take this victory away from us by belittling the result.

I walked into my local earlier this evening, over two hundred miles from the event, and was applauded by those sitting at the 'football supporters' table' at the side of the bar. I enjoyed my moment of reflected glory. Mark my words this has done the reputation of our club a lot of good - soemthing that has been sorely needed after the events of the past few years.

as a reward the football league have given our players free flights to la manga with a suitcase full of viagra and fire extinguishers....

seriously though, i have had people saying how much of a credit to football we are. unlike the usual "leicester, ****in hell son they are shit"

I am 80 miles frm home and our sporting gesture has been the topic of discussion on at least 5 seperate ovcassions I have over heard in the bar this evening :038::038:

Will we get any league points for this gesture?

If not then I dont give a feck what people say. They never had a good word to say before so they can still all fcuk off.

its a nice change from the usual bollocks associated with our club. such as 'alleged rape', 'cheating to clear debts', 'twats after twats for managers' etc.

Would've been interesting to hear people's reactions though if we'd gone on to lose the game ;)

I feel proud today reading and hearing so many good words about our club. As has been said already, nice to see us as big news for a good reason for a change. Well done to all involved.

Nice to know that Forest are shit enough that we can actually let them score and then still beat them as well! :icon_lol:

my reaction would be that we deserved to get slaughtered for the first half performance in the original tie. had that game continued i dread to think what the score would have been. if we were beat yesterday we would have walked away with some respect from our gifting of the goal, some consolation is decency

Give everyone a week or so and the old jibes will be back.

You old cynic.

By the by, please appease my gross ignornace; what does, "Tu sei la squadra del cuore, sempre in campo undici eroi" mean?

Something about his congenital heart condition being affected by seeing eleven men run around on a field.

My wife, who is French but part Italian, says that it means " You are the team of my heart, always eleven heros on the pitch"

Please give her my thanks. Another fraction of the enormity of my ignorance has been vanquished. :)

I'm pleased with the gesture and some of the responses I've seen, but I'm not sure if the Premier League fans at work are even aware it happened - certainly none of them have mentioned it, just as none of them said anything after Clarke's heart attack. A League Cup game involving non-Prem teams just doesn't register on the radar it appears. Well done to all involved, anyway.

i had £20 quid on the foxes tues, whats the situation on the betting, will i still get my dough :icon_bigg

I applaud the gesture as well. :038:
Can't help wondering if you'd have done the same in a Championship match though?:017:
