If you didn't leave early against Sheffield Wednesday the season we were relegated into League One, you must have been the last home supporter in the ground.
Either age is dimming the memory or I genuinely believe that the team showed more of a **** that season than this one's.

I'd certainly be more likely to buy a ticket for a dinner evening with that squad than this collection of spiritless ****tards and inflated egos. They've taken last season's memories, stuck them on the back seat of an expensive (personal numberplated) car, and shat all over them. One squad, no cups. Smearing the shit all over the windows until all you can see is shit. And then having another collective shit. The shitty ****ing ****s.

And the attack

and some of the midfield.

And the keeper who was to blame for the throw that led to their second. And for appalling smugness in his interviews. A leader? Ha!

I don't understand the love for Kasper. He comes across as an arrogant person who thinks he's much better than he is. I do think he's not been as bad as the majority of the team but I'm amazed that people would turn down 30m in the summer for him. I don't think he's better than at least half of the prem gks and tbh I don't think we'd be much worse off with most of the starting GKs in the prem than we are with Kasper. He's overvalued by our supporters because he's a shot stopper (though not in recent games) but his positioning and inability to deal with crosses is embarrassing and his control of his defence is no better than okay. He does look angry when he lets a goal in though - but then again he's had a fair bit of practice at that and knows that the cameras will be on him. His long passing out of bounds or to small forwards (Vardy and Mahrez particularly) always amazes me. But then I see us messing up throw ins all over the field and it doesn't seem so bad.

In short he's a decent keeper but nothing outstanding and certainly not irreplacable with £10m let alone £30m. Bring in an Italian goalkeeper to back up our soon to be African first team.

Arrogance is a trait in a number of successful people. I'm not saying it's a necessary trait but it's certainly not an uncommon one. People that believe in themselves can be arrogant. Athletes are no exception so I cut Schmeichel some slack on that one.

Are there better keepers? Sure. Are there worse keepers? Hell yes!! On the list of our priorities, KS's failings are pretty low. He does make excellent saves even though he was, by his standards, not at his best yesterday. Their 2nd goal, I'm not overly bothered by from a goalkeeping perspective. It was a powerfully hit shot that swerved late. Could KS have done better? Definitely. He could have stopped it for starters! But for me, the bigger failing was that Sigurdsson was allowed to get into that position. A possibly knackered Albrighton missed a trick there. Of greater concern for me, again keeper wise, was that KS was flapping at crosses a bit. He's usually more positive than that.

Nah, new centre backs over new keeper please. But I reckon if we go down it'll be a moot point anyway. KS will be one of those to go. Some Prem club will want him for his experience. And, to be fair, keeper is a position a lot of clubs struggle with. That said, Fabianski is decent. He didn't need to do a lot yesterday but that's another story.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not for getting rid of Kasper. as you say he's okay. I was just replying to those who think we shouldn't consider £30m for him and who clearly over-value his presence. He's a diddy who can't handle crosses.

I value Schmeichel for his leadership qualities as well as his goalkeeping skills. £30million would be very tempting and I guess might be equivalent to £60million+ for a good striker, so is a high valuation.

Zieler certainly has improved since his arrival although lacks the communication with the defence that Kasper has.

Getting £30million for Kasper sounds brilliant but only if you can replace with better for less. Kasper still has his best 6-10 years in front of him.

Unlike the defence in front of him, Kasper is going to get better and increase in value.

What's all this talk about £30m for Kasper?!

If we sold him today we'd get £7m tops.

LOL at £30m

Even bigger LOL at people who wouldn't sell at that price, hilarious stuff.

Anyway, Claudio is ****ed. If he drops these mugs for the cup he's saving them, if he plays them then he should have dropped them.

I would rather not see some of them again this season, regardless of fixture.

I appreciate the sentiment but I wonder how realistic it is.

Prem survival is, imho, more important than both cups. In CR's opinion too it seems. We need to balance giving our new team (whoever it may be) match time/experience with making sure they are fully rested and injury free for the real challenge.

If that means me putting up with certain players then so be it. I've already accepted that we'll get duffed up in Seville so who plays in it is, to me, largely academic - aside from giving them match time.

I dunno how best to handle that balance, I really don't, but then I'm not the boss so it doesn't matter. What I do know, and is apparent to all, is that we're not in a good place and we need to find a way out. It's a real challenge for CR. Must be amongst the biggest of his own career.

The Champions League is my only enjoyment this year.

I will not be one of these people happy to throw away a once in a lifetime opportunity.

A few of those saying the league is more important have openly stated on here that they lost all interest this season and couldn't get themselves up for it, this was at the start of the season.

I will continue to enjoy the fairy tale of the Champions League whilst still possible.

Bring on the tapas.....lovely stuff

My sentiments exactly.

After these last few games, I'm truly starting to dread the Sevilla fixtures now.
What is it you are afraid of exactly? Yes, it would be embarrasing to lose with 5 or 6 but I still can't see how it would be worse than we have seen in the last few weeks. We have already exceeded expectations in that tournament.

I'm more worried about complete humiliation against Liverpool than in Seville tbh.

Next league game I predict will be close to the Derby squad. Schmeichel in goal, who will be made captain next season and probably still has his best 6-10 years to come.
Mahrez and Vardy benched. Mahrez only on second half but do not depend on him defending.
Drinkwater not even on the bench.
Slimani, Okazaki, Gray, Ndidi, Mendy to lead the offence.
Simpson, Amartez, Big Was and Chillwell at the back.
This team should also start against Sevilla to bond better. They did well last time out.
Throw the Band of Brothers to the Lions at the Den!

Big Was are you on crack?

I agree with 90% of your changes CR needs to tell the new team that if they play well against Millwall then they will play in the Champs league and then Liverpool, it is about competition for places something which I feel the fringe players did not really believe.

Decent analysis from Neville on MNF

Pointing how shite Morgan, Hurh, Drinky and Vardy are

Spot on

Same bloke was also singing, Gary Neville he's a wanker, and Moanrinio can **** off.
