I don't really think I need to explain why a 4 year old would never feature on our lists

So there is no reason then? It's a wholly sick game, so why not? Come on. Tell us.

Because it's aimed at famous people whom have led cherished lives, and it's whole ethos is about folk dying of natural causes, not murdered children.

Because it's aimed at famous people whom have led cherished lives, ...

But Madeleine is famous now and it is certainly claimed that she was cherished. Does that mean that somebody could now put her on their list and get points if she does turn up dead?

And BTW Melts - thanks for explaining. It's a shame that MK couldn't have done so earlier because I really struggle to understand the attractiveness of the whole thing.

Agree with you about the children, but where in the rules does it say the reason has to be 'natural causes'?

There are no rules and a murdered celeb will still count.

However, I think this whole Death List thing goes against common decency and so mine and MK's argument is farily hypocritical.

I guess it's all about how low you are prepared to slump to, personally I think murdered children is a little too far.

But as Boc says, it really isn't any different in practise

Many would say that the whole idea of a Death List competition is sick. Please explain why the inclusion of this particular name would be any more sick than that of any other individual.

i said that if someone were to pick someone missing, that journalist in palestine, madeleine mccann, then when they find the body that counts as the day of death

perhaps the police's estimate of time of death...

meh, no one picked her, so no probs

there's no rule forbidding the picking of children and especially middle class white photogenic children

however i think nobody picked her because they didn't want to be called a sicko

she's dead anyway and i doubt they'll ever find the body

it may be a bit sick to play the game, but if you don't like it, don't read the thread...

Don't be such an arse

Jesus, I come on here to get away from my kids...

Why respond like that to a serious comment? I would like to know what motivates the people who take part in Death List competitions. I would like to know why people who take part in what would many would say is a 'sick activity' set a limit to how sick other people are allowed to be.

I am sorry that you feel that you can't respond in a sensible way to a serious question.

I don't know whether this is aimed at me. Just to clarify though, I have never said that I don't like the thread and it would not be true to say that I don't like the thread.

In fact, I find it fascinating. I can't imagine that I would ever send in my own list but that's rather more because I think I would be absolutely crap at guessing. I know that MK thinks I am being deliberately difficult but it does interest me that there seems to be a certain level to which such a 'game' is not allowed to stoop - even though most would think it stoops pretty low any way.

Please - can I keep on reading the thread?

I can't answer that TBH. I think I turned my brain off and treated it like just another competition.

However, when Melly died I felt bad about my taking part and felt very guilty.

I purposely don't look at my list now as I don't want to be wishing them dead, or being full of glee if they do.

Conscience has got the better of me I'm afraid, but if you can turn your emotions off I'm sure it can be just a bit of fun.

ive just seen martin tyler on ssn and he looks like death warmed up.hope someone has him on their list :icon_wink
