Beckford will definitely be on his way IMO. Not really followed Twitter for a year or two but always found FO to be pretty accurate.

I think Pearson would prefer to keep him, but not on the high wage he's currently on. If we do get rid of him, I think it will be to balance the books rather than because he can't do a job in this league - having players on that kind of money is completely unsustainable. I just hope we can find a decent replacement for a reasonable fee. Or perhaps Vardy is that replacement?

I don't get this notion that Pearson sides play boring football. I remember a host of games in our first season back in the Championship under NP which were some of the best Leicester games I've been to. When we beat Forest and QPR towards the end of that season we were amazing. He's bought in players like Marshall, Cleverley and Davies who could really turn on the style and Marshall in particular has scored some incredible goals... I really don't get how our football under Pearson is boring.

I envy you. Regretably I have been watching Leicester far too long to be remotely able to say these were amogst the best games etc etc. On the otherhand i suppose I am fortunate in the sense that able to say - unlike yourself - that I have watched Leicester when we had football teams.

I don't want my defenders providing entertainment We have a midfield
and an attack to do that. I want my defenders to tackle win headers and clear their lines.

You may say that - but my guess is that the majority of fans would be sorry to see Bamba leave. I could bore you with a list of defenders for both our club and others who have been both effective and entertaining, but it's too hot today to bother.

But surely the point is that Bamba is not effective - and his antics certainly don't entertain me. I think the majority of fans see Bamba for exactly what he is.

Very much with you on this one. It might be funny seeing a centre back maurauding forward with the ball at his feet. It's not so funny when the ball is knocked into the space he should be occupying and the opposition score.

Many people will say 'Bamba always gets himself out of trouble though' - I prefer defenders who don't get themselves into trouble in the first place.

Can't disagree with any of that, hit the nail square on the head there! Beckford has been OK for us imo, nothing more, possibly a bit less at times so I wouldn't be surprised if the owners/Pearson were looking at him and asking if they have really had their monies worth from what we reportedly paid for him and also reportedly paying him per week. As you say, it is unsustainable and as much as I like to see us signing the 'big names', I'd much rather see us building a sustainable platform for us for the future as there is certainly no guarantee we will ever reach the big time again so would be farcical not to have that as a contingency.

I'd imagine Vardy is his replacement and we'll try and recover what we spent on him from JB but I would imagine Pearson would be looking for someone else in the target man role as he does seem to like to at least have that option.

Its all about opinions but in a dull landscape Bamba provides a bit of light. He is exceptionally skilfull for a defender and as you say he does get caught out of position - but then he generally recovers. I wouldn't think for a moment that he pleases Pearson too much and as I've said above I understand that if Pearson re-builds the side to be more functional then all of us will be happy. That is not the same as entertainment. As you well know there used to be quite a view characters in the game - and we had a few; the likes of Johnny Morris, Worthington, Dougan, Fern, Rooster Russell. Somehow i doubt if many of those would fit today.

Unless a Premier League club comes knocking, I think (given the supposed wages they're on) the only way we'll move on the likes of Mills and Beckford (if that's what NP wants) is to ship them out on loan. That being the case, it's likely we will be paying the vast majority of their wages. If that's the case I would much rather they be on the inside pissing out than helping another club to promotion.

As people mention, Bamba is great for entertainment but I think his unpredictability causes too much uncertainty. I'd much prefer a Gerry Taggart style of defender.

Why is it that when a player is signed some people automatically assume that a player must be leaving?

Why does Vardy being brought in make it any more likely that Beckford will, or will not for that matter, be leaving? Could it not just be that NP is looking to add Vardy to the squad so we have more than Beckford, Nugent and Waghorn as strikers with first-team experience?

Out with the old, in with the new.

Looks like Shorey in and Konchesky out could be a possibility. Don't ask for a link, this is the rumours thread!

I'd be surprised if it's one in one out as I just don't see the benefit of that. From what I've seen and heard of Shorey he's probably on a similar level to Konchesky.

Unless he can play right back?

Rumours on FT (drom "birch" apparantly!! lol) that 2 possible signings are being shown around the facilities tomorrow
