Speculation The hysterical and annoying, but traditional, totally unfounded autumn/winter 2019/20 rumours thread.

If you believe that Choudhury and Barnes are worth £10 million each in this market you are deluded.

Closer to £20m but the others I would say are not far off.
Choudhury has played about 3 really good games. Barnes is not far off the same.

Barnes has that one stonking goal in the premier for us.

Bearing that in mind how much would you value Gray at?

I admit that it's a stretch.

The only real comparison player I could come up with was Liam Moore and we got peanuts for him.

But I do have faith that Choudhury and Barnes will go on to have slightly better careers.

Gray, couple of packets of Monster Munch, even then i’d want change.

£15-£20 million.

What had Wan Bisaka achieved before he went for £50m?

Feck all. We don't really have to revisit the argument that Man Utd are insane in the transfer market do we?

If the question asked was how much would Man Utd pay for our players, I'd start the bidding at £80m for Slimani.

Dele Ali hasn't achieved anything either

£10m?

Choudhury £20m
Ndidi £45m
Tielemans £40m
Maddison £75m
Chilwell £60m
Ricardo £35m
Barnes £25m

£300m for the lot.

I’d say Dele Alli’s price has rapidly dropped over the last few seasons. Give me a reason why you’d pay 30m for him now?

Also - he was part of the spurs team that have played in the UCL and reached the final. It’s hardly nothing.

That’s a more sane summary.
I think Barnes at 20 and Ricardo at 45 and that’s probably about right.

Not that we’d take those prices, it looks like our negotiating team is better than that, but that’s probably the “value” they have to the team.

Liam Moore? Really?

What's wrong with the comparison?

He was a home grown player who had about a year of in/out football for us in the Premier League after going out on loan a bit. Was in the U21s for a while too and people were talking him up when he was about 21.

I'd say Choudhury and Barnes are just about exactly the same level as he was at their age.

Not every young player becomes a multi-million pound superstar.

Right now, Choudhury and Barnes have as much chance of playing for Reading as England in three years time.
