Not 17:00:14?
If we feel the need for another central defender, why not just sign Cahill for a year?
He'd give us insurance against the things people seem to be bothered about without us having to waste millions on someone overpriced and, ultimately, probably unnecessary.
The three names being linked to us will be hugely more expensive than they merit being.
I want us to be spending our money on the other end of the pitch.
Is it sensible to bring in Cahill who will be on silly money, for a year or two simply as a back up option? Wouldn't it be more sensible to get the best we can in to do a good job from the very off and provide us with future successes? Dunk, Tarkowski and Ake are all very good players despite what one or two would have you believe and could all do a very good job both now and in the future.FAR too damned sensible. In essence, some are simply wanting insurance/cover whilst we bring Soyuncu and Benkovic up to speed. If we can do that for a sensible sum then I could live with that, but spending £40M plus on another cb seems a little daft to me. The sale of Maguire might set us back a little this season but the club's in it for the long haul. We bought those 2 guys specifically because we were planing for life after Maguire and Morgan, and Evans was supposed to be stop gap!
I don't think it's the best option if we want to break into the top 6 this year.
Thinking long term by bringing in Gary Cahill? That's not hugely long term. If the club aren't prioritising finishing as high as they possibly can in the league why the bollock are we even bothering? Being able to plan for the future and have success in the moment aren't and never should be mutually exclusive.Maybe the club haven't got that as the no. 1 priority... as I said, maybe the club is thinking long term.

And then when the stop gap moves on and Morgan follows shortly after with Evans ageing as well , do we replace those with stop gaps? There comes a point where building for the future requires you to do away with stop gaps.Yes, that's the point, he'd simply be stop-gap. Like Evans. I'm not suggesting Cahill specifically btw. I was agreeing with Brown Nose's general point. If we can get Dunk or Tarkowski for around the £20M mark then that'd work for me too... but I don't see that being a realistic proposal given where we are.
Ryan Fraser anyone?
we need someone that plays on the left more, Perez will play on the right.
I think Ryan Fraser spent a lot of time on the left last season.
Would be an incredible move but I think Bournemouth would probably ask for £50m plus...
Cahill FFS ?
We’ve just trousered eighty big ones. This is not the time to ‘make do’ with has beens
I couldn’t eat a whole one.Ryan Fraser anyone?

1 year left on his deal.
