This is all coming from Maguire's agent - Paul Stretford.

Stretford is a notorious one for planting stories regarding his clients. His other 'big name' client is Rooney but that cash cow is ending so he needs a new one.

He has moved players in and out of Old Trafford for decades. In the past, he announced that Rooney was to leave Man Utd only to sign a new 5 year contract a few days later. All the antics we've seen this summer were an annual occurrence with Rooney at Man Utd.

A few months ago, Stretford agreed an out of court settlement with many of his former players. He'd recommended a financial advisor to them all who turned out to be dodgy and they were accused of making payments to Stretford.

He's lost much of his reputation as a result and few players of note remain with his company. Why Maguire is with him is a mystery to me.

Maguire needs to tell his agent to shut the feck up, or better still, ditch him for someone who will look after his interests without pissing off everyone at his club.
