Speculation The hysterical and annoying, but traditional, totally unfounded spring/summer 2019 rumours thread.

I'm disappointed he's gone, but feck me that's a lot of money. Important thing now is to use it well.

I think it’s inevitable that we’ll spend the money on Dunk plus the attacking midfielder that Brendan wants.

It's a bucket of dosh for sure but I'd rather Maguire stayed. To me, it feels like we've lost some momentum; we're not going into the new season with our A team/crack squad.

This is one of those moments when I say to myself 'trust the club'

Very bad news for us. Doesn't matter how you spin it or how many gazillions it is, we are a weaker side without him. For me, I'd be looking at Tarkowski as a preferred replacement or Dunk at a push with the rest going towards a new striker.

Yeah that sounds pretty much how I feel.

Absolutely no question this is a kick in the balls and a stark reminder of where we lie in the current perception of top clubs in England. Let’s hope we have a good plan on what to do next. That attacking winger at Ajax and a good CB would be nice

Yes we will be a weaker side but if he had stayed we could have been even weaker if his heart wasn't in it, and he clearly wanted to go.

Couldn't give two ****s about losing the player, I dont get attached to them anymore.

It's more the damage it does to us as a squad and a club.

I just had a talk on talksport, was told to "get into my lane" after I suggested it was bad business!!!!

Nobody knows whether it is good or bad business. I can hazard a guess that it's not going to work out great for Man Utd but no idea about us. It's not a deal like with Kante or Mahrez where we were clearing losing a irreplaceable player.

We've got six days of the window left and I expect much activity and spending. If we do well over these few days, I'd happily remember us selling Maguire as good business.

I shall probably look a fool, in hindsight: but, it won't be the first time, or hopefully the last, however, I think that it is a good bit of business for City.

It gives us the money to buy a couple of more than decent players for the team; it says to promising youngsters, whom we wish to sign, that they will not be prevented from moving to the glamour clubs, if it works out well at Leicester AND it means that we haven't got a very good player in the squad wishing that he were elsewhere.

Of course, there is a risk, but good luck Harry and onwards and upwards Leicester City!

At the end of the day it's simple.

Football is about playing this stunning sport and trying to win. Making memories that last forever. Building camaraderie and creating tear-filled moments. Or at least trying your damn best to do it.

Next comes keeping afloat. Making sure we stay alive healthily. Enough of everything, stadium, money, training, cash-flow etc.

We get a £55m profit on Maguire (if Hull get a sell-on). What if we spunk that up the wall on another Slimani and Silva?? Then that's that really.

Yes yes I get it. They're one of the World's biggest clubs. Incomparable to us. Apart from balls, everything about them is bigger than us. But he's gone for the money and brand not for the team. They'll do a Liverpool and go a long time without winning the PL. It's already been 6 years. I totally understand why he's gone, we can't expect everyone to stay forever.

But it's fine...let's hope we spend wisely and the team stays focused and keeps this positive feeling and mentality. We did phenomenally well to get the price we did so kudos to the powers that be who negotiated.

I can't wait to have a ****ing wicked season.

L’il old Leicester

Selling Club

One a year ain't bad. If fact, selling to reinvest is often the only way to genuinely grow a team nowadays.

Kante - cost £5.6m - sold £30m - profit £24.6m
Drinkwater - cost £1m - sold £35m - profit £34m
Mahrez - cost £0.4m - sold £60m - profit £59.6m
Maguire - cost £17m - sold £85m - profit £57.8m (less £10,2m extra to Hull)

Four players cost £24m - sold for £210m - profit £175,8m
