I do agree that there has to be a link there as we were rumoured to be after him a while back and now he has ended up at a random Belgian club who so happen to be our “sister club”.

But why would we not just sign him and then loan him out to OHL?

So this isn't strictly LCFC, but it kind of is...

George Hirst has signed for OH Leuven. Completely random and bit barking mad if you ask me but it's clearly with a view to us having him in the future. It seems George will play for NP in Belgium and when he's ready make the step up to us. I don't know if this was done for some sort of financial reason or gain, but shall we have a confirmed transfer thread?

Every Wednesday fan I've spoken to reckoned that Hirst was gonna be the next errrr....... Hirst.
And I'm not surprised they are moaning about it, they didn't stop going on about him being a good youngster and he'd follow in his dad's footsteps and it was only a matter of time.

but then seemed to disappear last season, and it was all down to the fact he wouldn't sign a contract. It expired so he's free to go where he likes from 1st July. Wednesday's total mis-management, a bit like us from the past.

Nigel is a mate of his dad's and was still living in Sheffield and I imagine he's still got his house and family there as I doubt they have gone to Belgium.
