Yeah, when you're searching for a striker, looking at the top scorer of competitive leagues is basically just the dumbest thing you can do.
Actually what Bristol City and Nicky Maynard did was probably the dumbest thing you could do.

it is a bit dumb to assume someone will help us push for the top 4 because they've had one good season in the championship. I'm glad we didn't stump up the cash for ollie watkins because in my view he's not good enough.

The single season aspect is definitely a point. Otherwise Michu would have been snapped up by Real Madrid.
Watkins has scored 14 in 37 appearances for the Villa. My personal opinion is he would have been a good signing for us. Let's see how he does this year.

Not selling him at the top of his value? Hindsight's a wonderful thing eh
Yeah, but it wasn't like they didn't know he only had a year left on his contract when they turned down £6m from us, only to sell him to West Ammmmm for £1.5m six months later.

I agree, I think Watkins has looked good.

However, it'll be interesting to see how some of these players do when they have fans back in the stadiums. Nacho has looked crap ever since and his touch against Spurs was appalling.

Nacho scored a bundle of premier league, europa league and fa cup goals last season and is a good player

Can't say I've seen Daka play but he sounds like an exciting player.

Won't we lose him for the African Nations though? Means we will lose him and Nacho at the same time

For once I'd like us to lay down a marker and not sell anyone. Just once. Please.

I think it could happen.

Soyuncu, Youri and Maddison are the only ones I think are possible contenders for a big mvoe this summer.

I'm not sure Soyuncu's form will justify an offer big enough for us to consider.

I don't see us selling Youri this summer based on how we historically handle these - we'd do anything for him to stay and could end up giving him a bigger contract with an agreement to sell next summer, ala Mahrez etc.

Maddison is a maybe. If we get Coutinho (seems weird to even write that) and Arsenal are willing to offer £50m for Maddison then I could see that possibly, but I doubt it.

Both correct statements

"Sometimes is maybe good, sometimes maybe shit"

Zambia didn't qualify for the ANC so no problem there.

If Eduoard is still an option, it wouldn't shock me to see us sell Iheanacho. Irrespective of his excellent form for us, I still don't think BR likes him. If we could sell for £20m and get Eduoard in for less, it's a no brainer.

You're behind the time. We've already turned down an Arsenal offer of £70,000,000

Ah, good - I hadn't checked that.

I can't see us signing two strikers in one summer, when Vardy would likely at least still start the season as first choice.

I think you might be right about Nacho though, but I'd like to still see him given more opportunity.

Haven't seen Daka but scoring for fun at Salzburg is a better indication than not scoring many at Celtic. Everyone who's any good has scored absolute bundles at Celtic and looked great whilst doing it.
